I was really referring to that sequence in the movie where Bill Murray says something about he was working on this hybrid turf and you could play 18 holes on it then get stoned to the bejesus on it or something like that.

Wow, I guess I over shared then.. Haaa

Great movie.. Scrooged has been on and I love that one to.. Laugh my ass off every time at the ghost of Christmas present.. She reminds me of the love child of Meg Ryan adn Cyndi Lauper...

"Oh look, it's a TOASTER!" Haaaaa..

It's not full shade. I would say 75%. I watered the zoysia about a week after I planted it. I was surprised it took off as well as it did. It gets a little more sun where it is though.

Zoysia is what I have, used plugs years ago, did as it said and took a couple years to fill in. It does a good job of killing anything else out. No weeds in the zoysia but the spots where it hasn’t totally covered still has seasonal weeds.

Burn it in February.

Yes I’m serious. Follow the flames with the garden hose. Don’t let it smolder. you’ll be surprised how healthy it is in June. It will also cause it to spread.

Repeat every 3rd year.

I think I finally may have done something useful on VolNation.. :)

I’d like the entire yard to be zoysia. The spot that isn’t covered yet is Ky which is nice but weeds come up too easy. I will say you mentioned the top of your hill and moss and hard to keep that portion green, I had a bad slope that was was hard to seed, seed would wash and it would be very green at the bottom lol. So I plugged with zoysia and it looks great now. Zoysia is nice to walk on, feels like carpet if you don’t walk on the stones we have leading to the pool. Love it, little maintenance. Might try the burn and see how well it does, a burn normally does help any grass.

Believe I'm going to try the zoysia.

I would if I were you, especially on that spot, biggest spread is year one to two after it’s established. I would send you the link where I got mine, they run a good deal, especially on first orders and include a huge drill bit to help with the soil. Not sure if I can put the link on here? Wish there was still pm’s on here and I would send it.

Good luck :hi:
