Not to be confused with @mrmax86 thread where we track TN's rankings, this thread is to track how our individual players do. Basically: Does 247's Composite hate us?

I will update this with players as they commit. I will post their current ranking, any past ranking I have noted, and will update as others commit, or try to update once a month if there is no commitment. Players will be listed in the order they commit.

I only track the history of players that show up on the visits. There are way too many to individually track otherwise, and while I could use the history function, that typically only shows how an individual service ranks them, and its a lot of work to click thru each player individually.

I am using 247 because I had started doing this before On3 was a thing, and I don't feel like switching. this is 247's Composite ranking.

the first number is their "grade", and the second number is their ranking. I will also note when they commit with an asterisks.

*I am not sure what I will be able to do If I run out of cells. hopefully I can just add new tables*

depending on feedback I may or may not continue tracking this on VN.

updated with today's results. no real movement. Everybody has been hovering around the same rankings. Sometimes higher than where they were, sometimes lower. no big drops.

One thing I found a little interesting is that 247 seems to be the slowest to update. or at least they consistently have our guys ranked lower than the composite ends up with.

For Instance they have Tyreek King as an 89 3* with no national ranking. (they seem to stop at 300 for now). everyone else has him as a 4* and either in the Top 100 or right near it.

Updated with Tyran Evans and Gabriel Ossenda. 247 must have finally updated their scores because there was a lot of movement on the names I am tracking, which goes beyond this list.

This update it seems like if you were one of our higher ranked guys, your ranking went up, if you were a lower ranking commit your ranking went down this update.

This is great!

In my thread, I have to really work to keep it under 12,000 characters. Looks like you're at 2,749. I think each empty cell adds 10 characters to the code. Not bad until the table gets bigger. We have 9 recruits now. Assuming we end up mid-twenties, that's another 15ish rows, which takes you to around 7,000 characters. Then each column will add 250ish (plus ranks at 7 per cell), so if most cells are populated, that's 400ish characters per new column.

SO...if you update this once per month through ESD, you'll add 8-9 more columns, at 400 characters each, that gets you really close. I think you'll be fine, but you might have to get creative, or take out some of the duplicate data to save space.

the main thing I am worried about is the combo of needing both more columns, and rows.

it wouldn't be bad to just have another table with new names below. but I think its going to get messy having a new table just to get in more columns for the names we have. just graphically/formating wise it can get confusing even beyond the actual character count.

@LouderVol I'm an idiot. The limit is 20,000. you should be fine under my logic above

updated for 2/20/25.

A good bit of movement. A lot of guys grades went up, but ranking went down. I am guessing a bunch of lower ranked guys got big boosts. they made a lot of guys 99, the total number with 99 is now 18 which matches last year, but was a huge increase from previous rankings in this years class.

speaking of, Bacon made a big move up 200+ spots and is now a four star, and Osenda is now a 4* on the composite.

Anderson the traitor, did drop.

Faizon, Carson, Tyson, and Tyreek all took drops. most were small except Sneed droppng more than 50 spots.

Bryalon, Tyran, and Gabriel all rose. Braylon rose 38 spots, while Gabriel rose 120 spots, and Tyran rose 198 spots.

Tyran is the most volatile we have when it comes to rankings. this is the third time he has risen or dropped by more than 50 spots 3 times. except for the initial rankings boosts, no one else has more than 1 jump of that much.

its extremely difficult to take any of these rankings seriously.

yeah I get it when a guy's ranking shifts around a dozen or two spots, during the off season. they are ranking more and more guys so some adjustment is going to happen.

but when its big movement without a real reason, injury or position change, its hard to justify.

Would be cool if we could do a running average when they commit vs current average

Of course...I mean, Brandon clearly got worse this offseason.
You know he’s not alone in his philosophy.
He’s what you would call a “rigid thinker “.

And they get duped all the time. They reach for a convenient explanation when they don’t really understand something, but will fight for it because it allows them to move forward and not use actual brain power.

Saying stars matter is a perfect example. Todd Gurley was a 3 star before getting bumped all the way to a 5 star. He was a 5 star caliber player when he got that ranking. He showed that at UGA.

So why was he a 3 star just 2 months earlier ??
- it doesn’t matter to Rigid Thinkers. All that matters is that he was a 5 star that lived up to the hype.
