TN Commit's Ranking Over Time, 2026 Class

Although our 2026 class is GREAT. I'm starting to wonder if it matters. I think it was "J" on sports talk that stated that of the 25 commits we had in the 2023 class (Nico's class), only 10 remain on our roster. How the heck can a coach build a team?

We also had 8 transfers in that class that were contributors. That was weird. Seldon, Bradley, Leacock, Jordan Matthews were all top 250 or better type recruits. Just didn’t pan out

Did you major in statistics in college? Just a hunch.

No. definitely more of a "hobby" and likely due to my autistic tendencies. I really don't like open ended questions "Does X hate us", so a little data collecting turned into a investment, and I decided to share here.

my goal was never to actually change minds, fools goal, but at least the data *not scientific* was available, and some people would appreciate it, either agreeing or disagreeing.

I think what gets lost in a lot of this is that this data, or even the rankings themselves, shouldn't be taken as all that valuable at predicting how any individual does. but it does a pretty good job saying which team will be good. so I think they still matter, its the core that the rest of the team is built around.

I am no coach but hopefully they are seeing trends. transfer at this position do well in our system, players at this position struggle in our system. or in the case of WRs it seems like they need a year in the system before they contribute. Brazzel was a waste last year, this year he was a great addition in the portal. hopefully they recognize some of that stuff and can shift their recruiting strategies.

they should never ignore a position, but maybe getting top flight talent at one position just isn't worth it in their system.
