TN Commit David Oku

Here's my thought, which is basically a summary of what I posted earlier. Oku apparently wasn't convinced on his visits to Auburn and Syracuse and he is not going to either. He wants to go to UT, but the BB thing has him all confused. Nebraska is now a backup option to UT. He will wait and see what the coaches tell him about Browns visit this weekend and may or may not make his announcement next week. Just my opinon.

Last I heard he had a 15 on his ACT...

That would qualify as grade issues to me.

I don't like either one of their off the field antics. I would prefer they sign Brown if they had to sign one of the two. I'm just iffy because of the attitude of both these guys. Plus, I think we are comfortably deep at the rb position anyhow...

I am with you. I was all over the "OKU Bandwagon" until about a month ago. I would much rather have Brown. If we don't get either I am comforbale with what we have for this season.

Decently funny with the user name jab - all in good fun but could do better, could do worse. Good attempt though so I'll give you a 7.5/10.

Sorry for jumping to conclusion - you must fall into the "sources" category on this one. I am proud of you for not falling into the trap of subscribing to worthless crap that will get you information an hour sooner (that's about as long as it takes to leak to every other board).

As for my user name - interpret it the way you wish. Laughable that you jumped to the conclusion that you actually think you're ridiculing me or embarrassing me in anyway.

I'm still interested to hear the up-to-date information on Oku today, though - and I'm not being facetious.

I appreciate the response, and I wasn't referring to me ridiculing you rather you ridiculing yourself with your assumptions about me. I was just ribbing you about the user name, I really was curious though. But all is forgiven brother. I was wrong too.

The latest on Oku is that he is continuing to not respond to anyone's requests for interviews/text messages, anything. He has been silent, but it is thought that he is still in contact with coaches. I still think we end up getting him, but you have to think there has been some serious negative recruiting that has transpired against UT or this guy would have already signed.

The question becomes, is that negative recruiting ( and I think it is coming from Auburn AND Syracuse, from two former UT coaches - no less) enough to force Oku into making a decision that is not in his best interest? B/C I think, with some admitted bias, that his best option for playing time and success is at UT.

Sab is up-to-date on the situation - and I asked for today's update but he never responded to it - he was preoccupied trying to make fun of bass fishing and bass guitar players in his posts.
No, buddy. I am actually a huge fan of both. Like I stated before I really am curious as to which your name is referring to. Either way, I'm on board.

Anyway, you have the latest and *hugs* all around.

Think both players are 15-16 on the ACT.

I have kids that age so I have some info on the test scores. With those scores they say that 90% score higher on a retest.

If they take a review course, students in that range can expect 4-5 points higher, some times as much as 8 points.

They both can get to the 18 if they want.

The bigger issue is grades and credits. Did they take the right courses and have decent grades.

I wouldn't call it a critical need...but Hardesty's a senior, and Creer's a junior this year. The Vols could use another running back.

Agreed.

Hardesty is a senior that is so fragile that he gets injured if you look at him wrong.

Creer hasn't proved anything, AND he's a junior. Regardless of whether he ever amounts to anything or not, we still need at least one stud running back in our freshman or sophomore classes. We don't have any in either one of those classes right now.

Poole is a total non-factor.
