TN Commit David Oku

seriously, you guys are idiots freaking out over oku... i guarantee you he doesn't sign with syracuse.

just taking advantage of the limelight....UNC is who we needed to worry about and he didn't visit them..... he could've but he didn't... he's all vol

And oh yeah...OKU ain't afraid of crap!

He committed to us after UT already had committments from the #2 APB Jarvis Giles, Dom Allen, and Toney Williams.

FREAK OUT

I can't wait for him to sign in a week

going to syracuse is like disappearing into the fog...no one ever knows who you are, what team you play for, and forget about being on TV...come play for the real orange men.

He's going to Cuse because the Carrier Dome is a much better venue then Neyland. :p Who wouldn't want to play in the air conditioning dome?

If Drayton can talk Oku--or anybody--into going to the Cuse, then Kiffin should have kept him on the coaching staff. I think Cuse has been close to the worst team in college football the last ten years--not to mention the fact that the weather is terrible and the Dome is a joke. There are a lot of other, better places he could go if he's worried about competition. That said, they do have a good coach now in Marrone--who was a Vol coach for a few years, and I think a good one, before moving on to the NFL. He knows what he was doing. I couldn't believe he took the job, before learning that he's a cuse grad.

If this kid goes to a craphole program because he feels some sort of connection to a mediocre position coach then it will probably be the biggest mistake of his life

I know the Carrier Dome doesn't have air conditioning. However, the heating system dome just didn't sound as funny.

I was referring to your use of -ing instead of -ed. I'd say the dome does have AC. It gets warm up there in the middle of the summer.

There are a lot of negatives about the Cuse, but honestly if they puffed him up to think that he could help save the program then he might go. At this point, I'm not really that concerned about losing him since we have a good deal of quality RB's and a year to develop a Top 5 recruiting class. I want him to come here don't get me wrong, but I won't hold it against him if he doesn't come here other than the fact he would be a liar on many occasions.

I really don't see any circumstance where Oku signs with Syracuse. If Tennessee has anything to worry about, it will be this weeks visit with Auburn. I know he said he doesn't want to play in a spread, but with Malzahn's Wildhog formation and the success that runningbacks have in his offense, Tennessee should be concerned.

Oh yeah, there is also that Trooper guy.

I'm more concerned about Syracuse and his relationship with Drayton. If he can get Oku to visit with the recent history of that program and then have his commitment become questionable, then that's a good recruiter right there.

If Drayton was recruiting for any other university, I wouldn't disagree. But I can't wrap my mind around him even being remotely interested in going to school there for 4 years, even if he and Drayton are like peas and carrots.

If he is really second-guessing Tennessee, I would think Auburn would be the biggest threat.

Another thing to consider, there is a very good chance he will end up JUCO. Last I heard, he has yet to qualify. A 2.5 GPA and a 15 ACT won't cut it at any school. Good chance we will be recruiting him again next year.

I said that on purpose. Carrier Corporation was the major donor the dome is named after and they specialize in heating and air conditioning units. The Carrier dome does not have AC so it would not have made sense for me to call it the air conditioned dome.
