TN Commit David Oku

You mean as little to me as we mean to you. You can have your traditions, and we can have ours. Just like I don't give a rat's a*s about Duke-North Carolina, I don't give a rat's a*s about SEC football. I'm a Big East guy all the way - just a function of geography and alma mater, to be sure. Anyone who bags on Syracuse's football tradition obviously doesn't know that much about college football. Are we USC? Are we Oklahoma? Of course not. But we are a staple of college football in the Northeast.
Also your program that is so much better than SU is only rated 15 spots ahead of SU in ESPNs latest article of the top teams from 1936-2008, even with our terrible performance of late. I was at the game in 98 and UT should have lost only saved by a late 4th down pass interference call by an SEC official, otherwise we would be equal in National Championships and SU would have more Heisman winners.
You probably think every year when you get your "regional" version of college football publications, you say, "hey see Tn is on the cover again". Well guess what so are Su players in the NE, so before you going trashing a Program and region for that matter do your homework and sound intellegent.

Thanks for gracing us with your BS. Those regional publications you speak of have BC and UConn on them not Cuse.

Funny how you're able to read into something like that. I didn't see him say it's in New York City. Factually he's 100% correct in his assessment and in conclusion if I lived in Oklahoma my entire life I might consider schools located in CA, FL and NY to be a big deal regardless of if they're in the big city.

Two possibilities:
1) He thought Syracuse was in new york (as in the city).
Conclusion: he's an idiot -- its nowhere close

2) He knew Syracuse was in upstate new york and still thought it was "a big deal"
Conclusion: he's an idiot. nobody thinks upstate new york is "a big deal"

You've had 2 winning seasons if you go back to 2000.
You've had 4 ten win seasons since 1960.

I wouldn't call that a staple of football...anywhere.

You know whats funny, you are the only fan of SU to come on here and say anything. If you were that great of a program with fans that actually cared this would not be the case.

So go ahead and puff your chest up for SU, good for you. And I'm sincere, but if this situation was reversed where one of your recruits was visiting UT then you would see alot more of the BIG ORANGE fans on your sites.

I really like the way this guys runs downhill. But anybody who thinks that Syracuse is a 'big deal because it is in new york' (paraphasing) is an idiot. Upstate new york is about as big a deal as Cher's new album. Kid is an idiot.

I thought she retired, or maybe died a couple of years ago...Maybe that was Sonny?:eek:hmy:

Any ways old Gif was one hell of a player, I got a few laughs from your responses and honestly that was all I was going for. I only posted that list of players because earlier several posters stated "Su has not had anyone in the Nfl but McNabb".
Look I realize that Su is not a power house in football, but it does have a rich tradition, and people do care about football in the Syracuse, unlike what that one post saying that he lived outside syracuse or whatever he was talking about.
I lived in syracuse until I was 17 played high school football in middle tn, played football at martin, got hurt and graduated at UTK.
I know about UT football and would really love it if the fans were not so closed minded, I mean people pull for the colts over the titans and it makes me sick ok Im rambling.....................what Im saying is I hope Kiffin does well for you and Im glad we got pretty much you old staff minus fat Phill and if we can steal OKU somehow, we might see in in a BCS game in 2011.

And if there ever is another civil war Im on your side and we will drown the north with sweat tea (but Ill still root for SU)

Shhh.....he'll go tell the one other guy who cares about Cuse football. They barely care during the season up there but they damn sure don't care during b-ball season. What's funny is that he posted a list of players who were mostly pre-1970. I'm pretty sure everybody agreed that Cuse was pretty good back in the day but hasn't done much recently and only had a few NFL quality players in the last 10 years. His post actually backs up what we were already saying and that is funny as hell. Good job! With fans like you, no wonder you guys are a basketball school.

I will agree with you on one thing. I don't understand why people pull for the Colts over the Titans either.

Well played. I don't understand the Colts thing either. I am a Colts fan but will always pull for the team that represents TN. I don't even hate Vandy or Memphis but I do hate Calimari or whatever his d-bag name is. I know it is natural for a lot of UT fans to be Colts fans because of Manning and I also think it has to do with the fact that UT had Manning before TN had the Titans.

I'm glad you have our old staff as well. There's no need to rub in the fact that the winner of the Big East still gets a birth in a BCS game. Hopefully that will change soon. One last tidbit on Syracuse football - since 2000, Kentucky has won more football games than Syracuse.

Lol, people were saying there were no recent NFL players from Syracuse. Why don't you make a list of players who were actually at Syracuse sometime this decade? It would be a lot shorter with a lot of names no one had heard of. That's the point. Syracuse has been completely irrelevant to football during recent history. Your list just proves this.

Ouch

I think he is a little worried that the staff is recruiting other backs and he will have to compete for playing time. Kiff needs to show him so love before NSD and he is ours. Maybe have the hostess who showed him around campus give him a call. I hear he definitely liked her.

well, I certainly think she would be the candidate for "showing him some love," rather than kiffin.

Man, I always lol when I think about our recruiting hostesses being cleat chasers.
