TN Commit David Oku

going to syracuse is like disappearing into the fog...no one ever knows who you are, what team you play for, and forget about being on TV...come play for the real orange men.

Hey - look at the bright side - despite having to play for one of the worst BCS conference programs (as of recently), he'll get to play in the shadows of two of the great college RBs. Syracuse fans are suggesting they unretire #44 just for him and let him wear it as incentive to come there.

I don't care who played there - especially being quite awhile ago - no point in going there. CDM may make things better up there - but not while Oku still has eligibility.

This is a classic example of how screwy recruiting is and the fact that kids commit to coaches and not the school. Just goes to show you that nothing is final until NSD.

If kids are following coaches I sure wish McCarron and Richardson and don't forget Fluker would go ahead and commit to the Large Orange

Thompson was the main recruiter for McCarron at Bama, yes.

just because thompson was his main recruiter at bama doesn't mean he would be here. besides, what is the staff supposed to tell him...no thanks because thompson is here now and we don't want to ruffle any feathers?

i really hope that Oku comes to tennessee but i wouldn't say that he would be commiting career suicide if he went to cuse. look at hightower for the arizona cardinals he's doing pretty well and joe flacco aint doing half bad either and they both played for smaller no name schools. i'm not saying that he could do that at syracuse but saying that he's committing career suicide is a strong statement.

Yall act like he's already signed with syracuse. Chill out, calm down. He's still committed to us as of right now, and that's all you could ask for at this point.

The Carrier Dome is not the place to play if you are concerned about longevity. The surface is absolutely horrible and he will take a beatin'.

Trust me when I tell you that his commitment is definitely on the rocks since Drayton has been let go and has been in contact with him since being at Syracuse. Remember also that Marrone was under the guidance of Sean Payton and the best offense in the NFL for the past few years. That's a pretty good selling tool.

True :good!:

I for one will be glad when NSD is over so we can stop speculating on who all really WANTS to be Vol. If they don't really want to be here, then so be it. I think we'll be fine with the ones that DO want to be here.
