In the day and age of prima donna 17 year old highschool recruits that is refreshing to hear...
We need to hit the new coach hire out of the ballpark...the right coach will get most if not all of these guys to stay...
We are still UT...we still have some of the best tradition/facilities/fans in the country and its just a matter of getting the right guy to get us back to where we were and making us a place that players like this want to come to
That's good...call them prima donna's because they might have a change of heart due to a new Head Coach and coaching staff...brilliant.
Are you freakin' dense...I just said it's good that he's not a prima donna....and my assertion that certain recruits can be prima donnas has nothing to do with our situation and everything to do with the Fred Rouse's of the world
Read the post idiot...I didn't say you called HIM a prima donna...I said THEM. "In a world of 17 yr old prima donna high chool recruits" Obviously you call 17 year old kids who are having a hard time deciding about something as big as where they will spend their college careers, and who they will spend them with, prima donna's. That is moronic...I'm sure you buy the first car you see without test driving it, but most people are smarter than that...these kids are making the biggest decision of their life to date, and you call them prima donna's for taking their time and evaluating their options. I guess they should rush to decisions so that it will please you. Laughing, laughing harder...
Have you ever heard of Fred Rouse, Marvin Austin, Tim Hawthorne, Desean Jackson....I could go on...
I've followed recruiting for years and it get worse and worse all the time...17 year old thinking the universe revolves around them, milking every chance they get to be on TV or the radio, trying to use their commitment as some kind of leverage...
Look at what we have this year...a recruit(Giles) saying he will stay if Drayton stays...what is that? He's going to honestly give his future coach an ultimatum?
This new environment highschool players are being brought up in fosters the kind of attitudes that we don't need...and it gets worse every year...so it's nice to see Oku being so mature and reasonable about this situation
And I'm going to avoid taking pot shots back at you...since one of us needs to act like an adult before this escalates into one of us getting banned
I see where you're coming from but with Giles I think he has the right to say that about Drayton. I think he is just saying basically that he feels comfortable with Drayton and he is the reason he wants to come here. So if he leaves than he would want to go somewhere else. I might be in the minority but i don't see anything wrong with that particular situation. It would be nice if Tennessee produced good enough talent that we could land guys that grew up wanting to be a Vol but as we all know Tennessee has to recruit nationally. This is the result of that, guys that don't love the school as much as we do.
