TKJr

Hurd wasn't a good zone runner. He was a gap runner, which isn't a big part of butches offense.

Basically a broken record of a talented player that wasn't fully utilized while here.

We all know Butch and co have already lost control over some of the team's leaders...sounds like the wheels are already loose

Obviously...you're absence if information trumps others actual possession of such.

Likely, there is no "link" or source that would satisfy your anorexically narrow viewpoint.

Boro you seem like a respectable guy all in all. Clearly you want Butch fired and that is okay. I want to win and believe another coaching change will set the program back a few years again. Hope you can respect that viewpoint. "If" we get blown out Saturday I would be okay with a change, hoping the AD has a plan in place.

Regarding this thread, there is not one piece of evidence to support de1's troll job. The only source is TKjr's twitter feed. Just yesterday he post how honored he is to be on campus and run through the T. Why bad mouth the team at the expense of a player that has done nothing but represent the power T?

Basically walked out and quit as has Jennings but TKSr wasn't going for it and went to CBJ and other VFLs are trying to help figure this mess on the hill. We shall see Saturday. The kids are tired of the injury lies and coach speak as much as fans.

coaches are supposed to protect the kids. Jones didn't handle his business about Tuttle right but he didn't sell anyone out. That part is ok with me. Not saying I don't want someone else on Saturday.

So thE previewed notion is that TK and Jennings quit?

Tuttle too

Hmmm and here we go

I don't know how this got conflated to include Jennings and Tuttle.

If TKjr thought about quitting and had his father step in to work things out... what would be so unrealistic about that?

Why would it be a surprise if the players are unhappy? They lost a game to UF that they should have won and then followed that up with a pathetic performance vs UMass. Jones may have fostered a QB controversy in the locker room. Pressure is being applied to young players to perform ahead of their development. Talented guys are sitting the bench while thinking they should play (Wiggins comes to mind).

The question that I do not know the answer to is whether these are acute or systemic problems with Jones.

I HOPE the players aren't happy after their performances over the last two weeks.

FWIW, regardless of who is right, who is wrong, or what has actually happened... Jones future does depend on how he manages it and whether he can get and maintain control of his team.

IMHO... it starts with naming a starting QB with no equivocation and then moving on to other situations and cleaning up any uncertainty about where he stands.

So you are saying that 100 kids, coaching staff, AD department and media are keeping this from getting out?

No they're not. That's the point. The information is there, and has been for 4 years, if you listen and understand who is speaking.

It is Jones JOB to manage his players including any attitudes like that. And knowing you have someone like that... why would you let them expect something that you weren't going to fulfill?

Because coaches are really expensive used car salesmen. Jones laid the ground work for a vision that UT need to be rebuilt brick by brick. He rolled that onto the recruiting trail and did anything he had to the keep locals at home.

And fans do not know everything that happened between the two of them. What we do know is that Jones did NOTHING to discourage Hurd's prima donna attitude... and did A LOT to encourage it.

If we don't know everything how can a statement like that be made?

Who allows players to skip August practice if they want to? Who puts a RB in a green jersey all August even though he isn't hurt because you "know he'll be ready come game time"? To say those are rookie personnel management mistakes on a football team is an insult to rookies.

That was Jones trying a different approach. It was the wrong one and it showed

:hi:

Whether or not this rumor is true, it appears that Butch is being choked out. Stuff happens at every school, but when everything starts getting hung out in the open like it is, the program is about to spit somebody out. Some times truth won't get in the way of a freight train. It appears that the engine is starting down the tracks.

Rumblings of this stuff had been around the program for 4 years. The head coach does a good job of controlling the narrative coming out of the program, but of you know and talk to people (parents, relatives, players, low level AD people etc.)the stories of player discontent have been a regular component if this program under the current leadership. It's been talked about before, and per Volnation standard, the players have been labeled malcontent drama queens and the cause of it all.

People bring it, and nobody wants to hear it. That's okay...kill the messengers. Obviously that's best for the players and program.

Why? The things that set UT back following Fulmer are that he left the roster in a mess and then Kiffin screwed UT. Dooley was a bad hire but a product of both of those things. Fulmer deserved to be fired.... earlier. The evidence goes all the way to the drop off in offense following Cuts departure. He lost control of the team and didn't manage the staff well at all. He got more time because of what he had done for UT. That's understandable... but it gave him two more years in which he did not recruit very well. The lines were particularly bad when Kiffin took over... and got worse as Dooley took over then didn't fix them.

So you have bad coaching hires following a coach that ran the roster into the ground.

Right now... UT has a very good roster. That makes UT more attractive to better coaches and gives them a better chance of succeeding. That will NOT be the case if Jones is retained long enough for the roster to go bad again.

If he can't turn around, there won't be a more ideal time to bring a new coach into UT than this year.

de1conley apparently has some direct and indirect sources not only to the program but to the team. If there was a problem and it got resolved... why would that be unbelievable? None of the stuff you pointed to proves that what the OP said was untrue. Maybe TKjr is reflecting on the "good" after dealing with some "bad".

The issue is whether there is a systemic problem as might be suggested by linking several things together or if this is just "one of those things".

Oh hell, almost every thread I've opened since GT game ends up the same way. Who can outdo the next guy with "facts", insults, and name calling. I'm checking in for the entertainment value

Growing up I was told to never put family business out on the street.

Some of you can just keep your head firmly buried in the sand. IMHO, this personal house of cards that CBJ has created over YEARS is about to collapse. We need John Currie's leadership to step up in a big way... probably sooner than later.

If QD is the guy quietly but he expected JG to pass him at some point Jones is literally a dead duck.

Then one day Jones gets fired or bolts for his "dream job"... and these same fans will have an epiphany about all the problems during his tenure.

They just don't want to deal with the fact that Jones has flaws.... or that some may be fatal.

What is this about 4 years stuff? I'm talking about them quitting the team. There is not 1 creditable news story about them quitting the team.

True. The Head Coach runs a tight ship, and a definite narrative about his program.

Seriously, NOBODY found his explanation in Mondays presser about why Jennings isn't on the sideline at all questionable?

THAT mindless acceptance is exactly what he is banking on.

This isn't my story, or point to make. I don't have enough definite info to contribute other than to say I've sniffed the smoke that is eminating from this one. Chalk it up to rumor if you like, shoot the messenger who dare challenge your viewpoint. That'll help the whole situation.
