I would almost welcome a loss this Saturday if it guaranteed Butch Jones is done here. I'm more concerned with the long term health of the program than any one game.

Butch Jones is obviously a problem that must be removed right now. I hope the administration makes the right choice and fires him this weekend.

Maybe butch listens to you about which defensive backs to play and that’s why Martin and Abernathy keep blowing assignments and games since they are clearly just waiting out for their 1st round draft picks.

In the absence of facts about if this really happened or if it happened, why? I'm not going to blame Butch for anything.

I like TKjr, but he has not lived up (IMO) to the hype. If he's upset about anything related to what happens or happened on the field, then he's a cry baby. If he's upset about off the field stuff, then step up and be a leader. This team desperately needs leaders, not quitters.

I guess I'm old school, if you agree to come to a school and receive a scholarship, then make the best of whatever situation there is. Be a leader and be a champion for change if something needs to change. Be a man about it, don't quit.

Its mind boggling to me. The people in this fan base that refuses to admit that the program is a dumpster fire. The Sheep are strong.

Is FSU a dumpster fire? What's your opinion of their fans who are screaming that it is?

Players ultimately have to be team-first guys. Everybody wants to start and be the man and that rarely happens--there is a lot of competition, the coaches have their own ideas, and lots of players have frustrations of one kind or another--there are 85 players on the squad, and you hope all of them have the fire to compete and to want playing time. It's up to the players and coaches to keep the big picture in mind--and the big picture is the success of the team.

All true... and the coach still has to manage how that all comes about.

If you aren't going to run more out of the I then you don't let Hurd think you are... if he decides to find a program that will then you live with it.

You don't keep a QB competition open and keep throwing bones to your back up QB in the hopes of keeping him or the other guy from transferring. Choose a QB (preferably the one who actually wins the competition) and go with him.

These are the visible ones that probably play out at other positions as well.

This forum is exactly what is wrong with college culture in America to day. People come on here and give what the know or have heard for better or worse. But instead of taking the info and drawing there own conclusions they try to shout down the person that gives it. Not sure if it a football forum or Liberal elitist talk show anymore. You say what you know D1 and let these babies figure it out on there own. You don't owe them a d*** thing.

I want this downward spiral created by CBJ at UT to END...

He's running this program back down into the ground...

So yes, I want whatever it takes to convince those people who actually have the power to make those decisions to get rid of him....because only then will it stop! :salute:
Hahahahhaha. Your one gullible person.

Wow.... just wow.

You could have just stopped with "I'm not going to blame Butch"... because some of you will never see him as responsible or accountable for anything that goes wrong in the program. You always find a way to make HIM the victim.

Of course if he left or got fired... you'd flip completely and be his worst judges.

They are fine, way better shape than us. Jimbo will win 9 games with a back up qb and have them ranked in the top 10 next August. The difference is Jimbo Fisher is on FSU sidelines and we have Botch Jones

Just like everyone saying fire Butch now because he will never win KY, USC and Mizzou. Until they're played it's 100% BS speculation.

/thread

With Tennessee's HC, past is prologue. He is his own history, and 10 year head coaching record. An 8 win per year average coach, with an occasional peak and valley. Grab a win you shouldn't, lose two you should win. There is something intrinsically flawed in his "system", however infallible as he believes it to be, that keeps him at that 8 win average no matter what he does.

The ones speculating are the ones who refuse to see that, and hope he becomes something else.

Alot people tell my crap that turns out fake. I'm a paramedic on an ambulance so I hear it all. But I still listen. I don't tell them shut up and not talk until they can 100% prove without a shadow of doubt.

No. Because I'm about 1,000 miles away. I'll be watching and rooting for the Vols every week... just like I always do... including the worst misery of the past 10 years.

I am a Vol fan. I know the difference between being a Vol fan and a blind follower of a coach. I can handle unpleasant information... and still be a Vol fan. I can even see problems and be a Vol fan.

If you can't... maybe you aren't quite the fan you think you are.

I think all of that makes you an ADULT....:good!:

Been trying to tell you all this for years. It started with Fugate CBJ first year. I been saying it will all come out when CBJ is gone. The players, coaches and staff can’t stand him. I will hang up and listen

People on Volnation need to stop posting such garbage as this if you can't 100% prove what you are posting. This is getting ridiculous.

TK is on the front page of UTSPORTS.com ! Highly unlikely if what this thread is saying is true.

Or we could just use the rumor tag?

Not true. He mismanaged that relationship. He created the conditions where Hurd could think his agenda was the team's agenda or bigger than the team's agenda.

Whether Jones made a verbal promise or not (I personally suspect he did), Hurd expected to run more out of the I last year.

The worst part is that it probably WOULD have helped the team and would probably help the team now if they ran more under center and let the OL's use aggression sometimes instead of "technique".

Recruits are promised all thing by all coaches, quit pretending Hurd was promised something other players haven't been promised in the past. He was a me first player who did exactly what players like him do

Many people went ape ish over the Hurd situation, but more and more and more stuff is coming out about Butch.

Butch is the common denominator and many good-great players have left or are disenchanted

200.webp

Hurd was never a good-great player. Average at best.

Agree. I had honestly hopes until this year.. As bad as the Florida game was, UMASS was worse for me, even though we won.

So when the real situation with TKJr comes out will ppl hate him like another former player? Or do ppl understand things regarding what I said this past off-season about the HC and the bad culture and environment he has going on? Guys are really frustrated on the hill fellas. Thank God TKSr has some control over this situation.
I always like reading your posts. Thanks for the info. I think win or loss Saturday Butch is gone. To much stuff happening
