How is this even remotely true. SO you are telling us Butch and co. tells everyone that players have season ending injuries to cover up that they quit the team? And everyone in the AD as well as the player that quit keeps this super secret except your "inside source" who leaks that info to you and you spread it like poo all over the message board.

GTFO of here OP. You are toxic to this message board and this team. I'm sick of these stupid threads.

#trollmuch?

He did it last year with Jalen Hurd.

And I don't know how anyone could believe the deal about Shy Turtle and helmet.

I don't agree or disagree but something definitely has to happen asap. Crap is getting out of hand.

Do we know this or are we just experiencing the emotions of the UF and UMass games?

Are there deep problems that reach back before GT?

I do believe you guys just sit around and try to stir **** up to intentionally divide the fan base. You know he didn't attempt to quit. Period.

Losing games that should be won and bad behavior by a coach... will always divide a fan base. If Jones is lying about things then that's not going to make it better inside or outside the locker room. If he's favoring players or betraying his promise to let players win their right to play in practice then that just makes it worse. If he's allowing some players to become prima donnas because he's afraid they'll leave... that's almost a fatal blow to any hope of having a disciplined locker room.

I suspect that DKjr is hurt. But Jones HAS lied and been caught in it before to cover up locker room issues. The most notable case is Hurd's "lower body" injury last year.

Apparently. Butch must have told Jennings before the GT game to hold his wrist as he walked off also. Lol

People and posts like this is exactly what the last 60 seconds of Butchs presser Monday was about. This is pure message board BS. But when some dumbazz journalist reads it and asks this question is when it turns assinine.

Yes that last word is spelled incorrectly and no it wasn't an accident.

I don't hate Hurd. I won't hate TKjr.

IMO, Jones mismanaged Hurd from the day he committed. He put Hurd's face on the future of the program along with all the pressure that goes along with it. Hurd for his part let it morph into a prima donna attitude. I think it all came to a head when Jones insinuated after running more under center in the bowl game that that was UT's future on O. Hurd may have already threatened to leave for a program that would showcase his ability to run downhill (something that doesn't happen if Jones doesn't give him special handling previous). When the season began than progressed and it became obvious that Dobbs and not Hurd was going to be the center of the O... Hurd soured. It got worse when Jones tried to regain control.

I agree with this assessment 100%!

I don't know one thing about recruiting, but I do know the overall world-view of our society--and have worked with the public for over 25 years.

And if you fail to "MAKE MUCH of THESE ATHLETES" then they do not believe that you value them at all. It's the epitome of narcissism...

The dominant attitude in our society is "I have a right to get whatever it is that I want...and if you don't give it to me....you're a bad person."

I believe CBJ's RECRUITING process feeds that attitude with positivity and hope...but it crumbles quickly because "ME FIRST" athletes DESTROY the TEAM-FIRST attitude that is the cornerstone of GREAT PROGRAMS.

Their "ME-FIRST" attitude convinces them that CBJ has played the 'ol bait-n-switch game with them...and they leave the program...

It's taken a little over 4 years to see the outward display of the foundation's brittleness at UT under CBJ.

His chance at UT peaked in 2015...and CBJ has no one to blame but himself...10-2 and a trip to the SEC championship that year would've validated CBJ and his approach....But we all know what happened....

And now CBJ blames it on the overwhelming deluge of negativity he perceives as originating from the press...revealing nothing more than that he is guilty of the same narcissism he feeds in recruiting....

He might as well as gotten up there and cried out "Why is everyone against ME???"

change ur avatar pic then benedict.

If this is true... and there is smoke... then those who tell the truth are NOT traitors. Those who refuse to see problems because it makes them uncomfortable... are cowards if not passive traitors.

You are just making things up. TKJ has not quit on the Vols. I know for a fact that TKJ is hurt. He is going to continue his education after he graduates and knows he is not going to play in the NFL.

As far as Jennings goes you are just guessing and hoping you are right so you can come on here and tell everyone I told you so. Are you going to come to this board next year and apologize when Jennings shows up on the team?

Didn't de1conley basically say he had quit but his dad came in and resolved the situation?

Exactly Orange Vol! I think thats why Butch walks out to the injured player when they are on the field. He instructs them what injury they will have since they have quit. It's the biggest racket in Knoxville right now!

I've hit the wall now. I'm tracking every toll calling them on their BS. I'm going to stay busy.

So when the real situation with TKJr comes out will ppl hate him like another former player? Or do ppl understand things regarding what I said this past off-season about the HC and the bad culture and environment he has going on? Guys are really frustrated on the hill fellas. Thank God TKSr has some control over this situation.

What in the wild wild world of sports is going on here?

All from someone who openly wants UT to lose Saturday.

I want this downward spiral created by CBJ at UT to END...

He's running this program back down into the ground...

So yes, I want whatever it takes to convince those people who actually have the power to make those decisions to get rid of him....because only then will it stop! :salute:

You can blame CBJ for a lot of things but Hurd isn't one of them. He got plenty of playing time even when he shouldn't have and chose to give partial effort.

Not true. He mismanaged that relationship. He created the conditions where Hurd could think his agenda was the team's agenda or bigger than the team's agenda.

Whether Jones made a verbal promise or not (I personally suspect he did), Hurd expected to run more out of the I last year.

The worst part is that it probably WOULD have helped the team and would probably help the team now if they ran more under center and let the OL's use aggression sometimes instead of "technique".

Because NW beat him out of his spot? All we hear is why does Butch play seniority over better players?

TKjr mad this happened?

Yeah... probably just that simple. That's why a kid who obviously loves and has sacrificed for the Orange would get a bad attitude.

Don't sweat the heat you'll take on bringing this info up. There have been rumblings of this since Vic Wharton. People would rather blame the players than the obvious common thread. There are institutional issues surrounding the program that many have been hearing about for quite some time. If you know anyone with a friend or relative on the team you eventually get wind of this stuff.

Keep blaming the players though....all is well.

Basically walked out and quit as has Jennings but TKSr wasn't going for it and went to CBJ and other VFLs are trying to help figure this mess on the hill. We shall see Saturday. The kids are tired of the injury lies and coach speak as much as fans.

This is bad, CBJ needs to go, SOON.

How can you all truly doubt what de1 is saying? Open your eyes- there are locker room issues, there are players missing from the sideline who are injured - usually injured players are there cheering on their teammates. Rumors of other players quitting and being walked back. Butch has been a horrible manager of personnel especially when he allowed Hurds situation to escalate last season. Other posters have echoed some of this as well. It isn't fake as much as some of you want it to be.

People on Volnation need to stop posting such garbage as this if you can't 100% prove what you are posting. This is getting ridiculous.

TK is on the front page of UTSPORTS.com ! Highly unlikely if what this thread is saying is true.

Players ultimately have to be team-first guys. Everybody wants to start and be the man and that rarely happens--there is a lot of competition, the coaches have their own ideas, and lots of players have frustrations of one kind or another--there are 85 players on the squad, and you hope all of them have the fire to compete and to want playing time. It's up to the players and coaches to keep the big picture in mind--and the big picture is the success of the team.

No. Because I'm about 1,000 miles away. I'll be watching and rooting for the Vols every week... just like I always do... including the worst misery of the past 10 years.

I am a Vol fan. I know the difference between being a Vol fan and a blind follower of a coach. I can handle unpleasant information... and still be a Vol fan. I can even see problems and be a Vol fan.

If you can't... maybe you aren't quite the fan you think you are.
