Thanks I was going to ask to list out the position group and former ratings as well as stats. We have 2 former 5 stars (Matthews and Keys) and we have 4 former 4 stars (Staley, Smith, King, and Jackson) our top 6 receivers are loaded, not to mention Matthews and Staley both went over 800 yards last season. We are loaded at WR
Mathews doesn't make tough catches and has way too many drops. Staley is solid, but not great. Jackson will get the other spot and has a long way to go before any NFL scout takes notice. The recruiting rankings say otherwise.
I think he will this yearMathews doesn't make tough catches and has way too many drops. Staley is solid, but not great. Jackson will get the other spot and has a long way to go before any NFL scout takes notice.
Other than Squirrel White (had no choice) this staff has never played a freshman any meaningful snaps.
I expect radarius Jackson and Travis smith to have big time sophomore campaigns. They def have the measurable. And keys looks to be dynamicI watch every snap of every game. Unless Keys does something no other freshman WR has done under Heupel, there is no great WR on this team. The NFL scouts will not be drooling over our WR room this fall.
We aren’t going better than 7-5 with a freshman QB and the schedule, but I still think the WR group is excitingI love Tennessee football, but the orange glasses and optimism for this team is laughable on this site. We will be lucky to make the playoffs, yet we seem to be loaded at every position here.
Beyonf their talent? Are you serious? If so, please explain.Matthews and Staley both did go over 800 yards, but one reason they had such great years beyond their talent was the threat Chris Brazzell II gave to defenses. Hopefully someone among Jackson, Keys, Smith, etc., will takeover that spot. Yes, we are loaded with talent, but that talent needs to turn into production on the field. And, oh yeah, someone upright long enough to get them the ball.
