This years WR Room

Matthews and Staley both did go over 800 yards, but one reason they had such great years beyond their talent was the threat Chris Brazzell II gave to defenses. Hopefully someone among Jackson, Keys, Smith, etc., will takeover that spot. Yes, we are loaded with talent, but that talent needs to turn into production on the field. And, oh yeah, someone upright long enough to get them the ball.

We have 2 former 5 stars (Matthews and Keys) and we have 4 former 4 stars (Staley, Smith, King, and Jackson) our top 6 receivers are loaded, not to mention Matthews and Staley both went over 800 yards last season. We are loaded at WR
Thanks I was going to ask to list out the position group and former ratings as well as stats.

Definitely loaded. Outside of Texas don’t think there is a sec school that we would trade our WRs for theirs. Surprised we were able to retain everyone in the portal season and still bring in the top 2026 high school wr.

The recruiting rankings say otherwise.
Mathews doesn't make tough catches and has way too many drops. Staley is solid, but not great. Jackson will get the other spot and has a long way to go before any NFL scout takes notice.
Other than Squirrel White (had no choice) this staff has never played a freshman any meaningful snaps.

I think he will this year

I watch every snap of every game. Unless Keys does something no other freshman WR has done under Heupel, there is no great WR on this team. The NFL scouts will not be drooling over our WR room this fall.
I expect radarius Jackson and Travis smith to have big time sophomore campaigns. They def have the measurable. And keys looks to be dynamic

I love Tennessee football, but the orange glasses and optimism for this team is laughable on this site. We will be lucky to make the playoffs, yet we seem to be loaded at every position here.
We aren’t going better than 7-5 with a freshman QB and the schedule, but I still think the WR group is exciting

Staley and Matthews were very good last season. Who’s going to be the replacement for Brazzell? It will probably take Keys a year to make an impact. Jackson maybe?
