I know this train has just picked up speed, JG is finally a super star based on his stellar performance today. I know the rest of the SEC is sitting up and taking notice. But really, please list the four teams you're expecting to go down.

Bud let's understand something. We lost to Georgia effing State. We lost to BYU. Tonight, they beat a DII school. You actually expect any sane person to get jacked up over that? Quit complaining about people bitching. There is one thing more irritating than bitching. And that is jackwagons like you trying to sell us this kinda horse crap. You want to read some sense? Try this on for size; STFU.

The point is more of what the hell do you have to gain two games in bashing the team. It literally does nothing but show recruits we have some pretty dumb fans that will turn on them. The good thing is the majority will judge CJP for his body of work over the season. We also didn’t expect him to turn this program over in year two. We had to play a lot of fresh players to give ourselves a chance come next week. This was the best way our coach knew to get these guys SEC ready. He gambled and lost two games he hoped they could win and not get completely exposed. He lost the early rounds. Now it’s time to see if it paid off come SEC play. Enjoy watching. They are starting to click. Quit bitching.

Maybe we should notice the inherent irony in analogizing our team as a train picking up steam when in the actual world, everyone switched to Diesel Electric locamotives over 70 years ago.

If you want to see a train putting on more steam you go to a museum.

If one wishes to extend THIS analogy into a comment about Tennessee's current offensive capabilities and their archaic state, I for one will not attempt to disuade you.

I do not consider what I am doing now to be bashing this team. I do consider it as, after over a decade of "support this team no matter what", entering a phase expecting "show me". The last 10 years have been all promises and talk. Now I am ready to see it on the field. That doesn't mean I will not support the players and celebrate the wins. But it does mean I am not investing my normal energy and attention to this team until they give me a reason.

Know what the real bitch is? He is never living down losing to Georgia State. And they did it with a p*** poor effort. Bad enough they scheduled such a cupcake, but losing to them? Geez. And to say they are "starting to click" because they beat UTC? That is the real bitch. There are some really good high school teams in Tennessee that could give them a challenge. When this team proves they can compete with the teams these guys came in here to compete with, don't jump on fans with a legitimate gripe with your excusing mediocrity. Dumb ass fans? Check the mirror.

Let’s hope this thread ages well Tomorrow afternoon. I’m obviously a homer but I’m also a pretty observant homer. I think we go down to Florida and get the W. I think it being a noon kick off is the best thing we could have asked for. Their fans and players already don’t respect the Vols and with it being a noon kickoff I expect the Vols to come out and jump on them early. WE WILL COME OUT READY!

So far ( past 10+ years ) the ride has not been all that enjoyable.... but im sure we are right at the verge .. just at the cusp.... etc.....just almost... nearly ... about to .... turn the corner... very soon.... very very soon..... ;) (winkers)

I'm with you, Smokey. I mean, I do realize we've shown to be a pretty bad team thus far, and I know that's usually an accurate measuring stick to figure how we're going to do going forward, but I also know that we're better than that. I do not believe this team is as bad as understandably many people think. I believe this team legitimately stands a good chance of turning it around and upsetting the Gators. We are 0-0 in SEC play and it all starts for real tomorrow. Who's been good or bad to this point doesn't matter. It's Florida vs Tennessee and win or lose, good years, or bad years, we fight like hell in this game. Ride or die. Vols 27- FL 20

If we get throttled tomorrow there are bigger problems and obviously I miss judged the team and Ill get to eat some crow. Believe me. I’ll man up and take it. I just believe we have turned the corner. I think this was a 9-3/8-4 team at the beginning of the season with some things going our way. Obviously Thompson and Bituli out the first two losses doesn’t quite mean things went our way. They are back. I truly believe we are 3-0 right now with just those two players the first two games. I think our freshmen are starting to turn the corner. Will they make mistakes of course. Will some of our play makers make plays absolutely.

Does 31 points count as "throttled"? That can be subjective.

On a happier note, Chick-Fil-A brought back mac 'n cheese and a new Popeye's recently opened near my house.
