Our quarterback holds the ball longer than it took me to read the OP. That is the main problem. And there will be no improvement until there is a change at that position or he miraculously gets it.

Bitching about your coach with these things being completely obvious is pretty counter productive and dumb to be honest.

I’ve had nothing to say about this Coach.
Ever.
But, over several decades I’ve seen near-countless former players stand in line to be the first to tell us what a great hire this one or that one is. Jones? A great hire! Vince’s son? A no-brainer!
And, opposing coaches; funny (not funny) how they always have such high praise for the latest fly-by-night candidate ...while beating us to near submission.
So, now the skeptics are dumb to start to ask questions about an alleged Head Coach who has this University on the hook for what, another TWELVE MILLION DOLLARS. Who will be paid, regardless of his won-loss record!
Dumb?
Yeah, things will get better, when this happens, when that happens. He just needs time.
And, players; after all, you need to be able to go toe-to-toe with Georgia State. And, Brigham Young.
And, money. Lots and lots of money.
This latest edition of How Tennessee Finally Got It Right might turn out to be a very capable coach.
But, I’m skeptical.
And, with this tirade on record, apparently, dumb.
Go Vols!

Ga State was a fluke, a bad one but thats what it was, we saw where this team really is against BYU, I think we will see improvement as well, at least i hope so, the thing that always drove me crazy with Butch's teams is you never saw them getting better just the same thing week in and week out where you felt like we got lucky in every game we won.
If we're being honest, Pruitt's team has gotten worse the past 4 games.

I love the excuses about us losing bc Pruitt doesn’t have his players yet. Our 3rd string is more talented than Georgia state

Talented? Yes, absolutely. Experienced? Physically mature? Probably not. A lot of growing between your first year and senior. A lot of it between the ears.

I hope you're right but you ae seeing and hoping for things I'm not seeing. The last touchdown BYU scored in the game seemed like a lack of effort to me. The d-line hit him at the 5 and he just pushed the pile for 5 to 7 yards. This wasn't a SEC offensive line or rb but a BYU offensive line and rb that just waltzed on in like we were a FCS team.

What if I told you we went and hired one of the best defensive coordinators in the game. What if I told you we went and got one of the best offensive coordinators in the game? Imagine having both at the same time. This program is picking up some steam and this fan base needs to buckle up for the ride because we are going to do nothing but get better all year. Do we have the best QB in the SEC? Nope. But what we do have is a QB that can be serviceable if Pruit can get his defense rolling. He has a big problem though. He had to throw true freshmen out their that weren’t ready. He knew the only way he could get them ready for SEC ball is to throw them in the fire. We are young! The talent is getting coached up. We get Bituli back this week who was not only our leading tackler but the QB of this defense. Thompson will probably be back by next week. Once Chaney and Pruitt get full rosters of 4&5 star players they will do what they have always done. WIN. Be patient and enjoy the ride. Wins will come but we are going to have to take the lumps as they come. #GOVOLS!
You sure have a lot more faith in these clowns than I do. We shall see

You’re giving us a pep talk and say with such enthusiasm...do we have the best QBs in the sec? No. BUT WE HAVE A SERVICEABLE ONE! As if to stand up and sheer that statement. Lol. We ha e a coach too dumb to try someone else man. Oh my god I love our fan base.

No. You will see this team get better all year. They will win some they will beat some teams they shouldn’t. We will end up going to a bowl. They will be a lot better next year and by 2021 we should be in the talks for winning the east. Chaney and Pruitt did not forget how to coach. They have to get their rosters built first though. The fans getting behind him as soon as we start showing improvement is crucial though because if he is on the hot seat talks then 5 stars aren’t coming to a school who might make a coaching change.
I don't think we need to start getting behind him when he starts winning. We need to get behind him now, even with the team taking the lumps known as growing pains. We were told at the time of his hiring it would be a 4-5 year process, by the athletic director. Does anyone think Fulmer isn't aware of the disappointment from the fan base? But unless the team goes 0-12 and totally tanks, Fulmer will give Pruitt the time needed to show his coaching abilities.

Well continue to bitch guys. When we start winning some games just be happy with it. Enjoy the ride. Who am I fooling everyone has already made up their mind. He could win 7 games this year and you all would still bitch. Win 9 and miss the east and you all will bitch next year too. Hell he could win the sec championship the following year but get beat in the playoffs and you all will bitch then too. Some of you all just bitch no matter what. We all have co workers just like you. You all are the loudest in the office and always bitching about something. the majority just goes to work and does their job and every once in a while they make the mistake of thinking they can talk some sense into you.

Some people will just keep believing blindly no matter what. We could hire a new coach and go through a rebuild and it fail and they’ll just keep pumping sunshine. We could hire a new coach and see some good 4-5 stars get signed and then it all fall apart and they’ll still believe and get annoyed with those who are pessimistic. They’ll see us experience the worst season in school history followed up the next year with possibly the worst home loss EVER...and they’ll still say we are right around the corner to being UT football again.

See what I did there?

I appreciate your attempts to be positive as the Titanic is almost completely under the water, I ask that you remember 2/3 are in the water accepting their fate.

We will get better. But that means nothing. Better means beating Vandy again. Congrats on the likely win against Chattanooga! Go ahead and get your hopes up, pat yourself on the back. Vols winning today is like me congratulating myself for breathing and having a bowel movement this morning.

ABSOLUTELY! If you’ve been on the job ONE recruiting class you should be able to line up with your best upper classmen and the rest YOUR frosh and best GSU. EASILY.

This.

Pruitt will get to the end of next season at the least. But this crap where we declare the new coach "THE GUY" has to stop. It's like some of either haven't been paying attention the past decade or think the rest of us haven't been paying attention. Every proclamation, every excuse, every talking point has been made with the previous 3 coaches. Kiffin to a lesser extent since he bolted after 1 season, but Dooley and Jones definitely. "Inherited a mess"....check. "Hasn't got his players in"...."Other coaches/fans say we got the right guy"....check.

Please spare us your lectures about how awesome the coach who has yet to prove anything yet is. Time will tell us that, not you.
