Thinking about getting a system again.

I have a question about the memory on the games. I've never owned or used a modern console. The last console I had was a N64, since then I've been exclusively into PC games. My question is, How much is the memory used? Is it just used to save games or settings, or are you actually "installing" whole games on there like you would on a PC to play with out a disk? Would getting a 4g over a 250g system just lead to a hassle or would it actually gimp game play it's self? I'm looking at a system for those games that they no longer service on PCs. Hunting , Football, and other similar type things that for the last 8-10 years have ignored PCs. Thanks for any help.

The hard drives are just used for game saves and settings but also store any downloadable content for games. Some games don't use much space maybe less than half a gig but I had almost 2 gig in one call of duty game because of maps etc.

Having a 4 gig hard drive does not effect gameplay in any way. I have a 4 gig and its kind of a pain always making for space for stuff because I have Netflix and my girlfriend also uses the console. I'm looking for a bigger hard drive very soon.

You don't need to download the discs to the console but I know you can on Xbox but all it does is cut down on load times and you still need the disc to play.

I went to Wal-Mart Wednesday morning & got my HDMI cable & a charging station for the controller. I got all this hooked up to the 50" Panasonic Plasma and started doing what is called "the set-up" period. After that, I started playing one of the games that came with the console. After a few minutes with that, I put the movie "The Avengers" in to see how the blue-ray would look. Let me tell you guys that don't have a PS3, I'm not what you call a "fan boy", but after watching the movie Avengers I'm like totally blown away with this powerful unit. It's some good stuff for real. I got a good deal from Amazon on this unit & that's the only reason I bought this PS3 250GB system. I've been waiting for years for the price to come down on these consoles & I finally scored & saved around $160.00 from Amazon. I noticed that the price went back to normal a couple of days ago so I was lucky when I bought this bundle. Right now, I'm more than pleased with this. I haven't hooked up with the internet yet but I don't see the hurry for that yet.

I would go with the 360. Gruden just bought one at Gamestop in Sevierville. He figured after getting a portion of the Browns, he could finally afford one. I only know this because I was setting at the Outback bar looking across a very crowded parking lot, about 200 yds, and saw him walkout. Also, he was wearing an orange tie. TIFWIW

nicely done

if only you had heard it from a friend has a cousin who knows /works out at the same gym as a booster :p
