I still play SMB3

Favorite NES game was North & South.

I must be a 100 yrs old cause I never heard of a game called North & South from NES. What was that game's format? Was it a shooter or puzzle or neither? JMO, I always thought that SMB3 was the boss of games back then & so much fun to play & still is I'm sure.

I have a question about the memory on the games. I've never owned or used a modern console. The last console I had was a N64, since then I've been exclusively into PC games. My question is, How much is the memory used? Is it just used to save games or settings, or are you actually "installing" whole games on there like you would on a PC to play with out a disk? Would getting a 4g over a 250g system just lead to a hassle or would it actually gimp game play it's self? I'm looking at a system for those games that they no longer service on PCs. Hunting , Football, and other similar type things that for the last 8-10 years have ignored PCs. Thanks for any help.

Bought me a PS3 today on Amazon. It's a PS3 bundle w/Uncharted & Infamous games with 250GB at a cost of $199.99 + $8.00 to ship. I saved around $160.00 by getting this deal...it was a Black Friday Deal on Amazon. There was no sales tax added. Amazon said they would ship & I would receive it by Nov.29th. My experience with Amazon is that sometimes I get my order a couple of days before the day being said to arrive. We shall see how all this shakes out as I'm glad to finally get a new PS3. Those that have these consoles, what else do I need but the HDMI cable & thanks for an honest answer.

God of War 3 is good. Uncharted 3 and Infamous 2 are bad ass games.

What other kind of "accessories" do I need to get for the PS3 other than the HDMI cable for HDTV? Do I need to get a microphone headset? Do I need another kind of cable to hook up the console with? Do I buy memory cards for this console? Any help?

if your TV isn't a 1080p, then an HDMI cable isn't necessary, the included component cables will be more than adequate for 1080i/720p TV's. Check out Monoprice.com for HDMI cables, retail outlets, even places like Dollar General, charge way more than you should spend.

You don't need any memory cards, that's what the hard drive is for.

PS3's have built in wifi, but if you'd rather have them hardwired into your home network, you'll need some standard ethernet cable.

Okay, thanks a bunch. I do have a 50"HDTV that I was going to hook up to the PS3. So hooking the PS3 up with the internet is a good idea? What's the positives on that...to download content from Sony's website like games & movies & such?

Internet is not needed to play games, but if you want the full value of your PS3 you should connect it. Updates to the system are made through the internet, plus you need it to download DLCs (downloadable content - expansions for games), PSOne or PS2 games, and to use Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime, etc. if you're a member.

Okay, thanks. That sounds awesome. I'm from old school & all this new stuff is scary good; I'm probably the last one in the world to start playing on these new machines. I guess I need to jump in & get my feet wet as they say.

Pretty good game, huh? Is it one of those games that's hard to play cause you keep dying so often? What other accessories do I need besides the HDMI cable for HDTV? :hi:

Nah. You won't die to often. The gameplay is much improved and the sneaking is awesome. I need to go back and play through it again over winter break.

Metal Gear Solid 4

I do remember this game now when it first came out way back in the day. It's about stealth right? I remember some guys at work would play those games on the PS. I never was good at this type, I guess cause I didn't have the "patience" to play the character in the game. Plus all the buttons I had to remember to push for the thing to do what I wanted the guy to do. I had a demo of the game & tried it out & sucked at it. But I do agree it's a pretty good game for those who play it. I'm still wanting to play "Sniper Elite"...just waiting for the price to come down. I did like the game "Black" very much on Xbox.

I've gone back to playing my SNES. A new system and TV isn't in the cards this year. Super Mario RPG ftw.

Playing on the SNES is way cool. I would play on mine but it's in the closet & has been there for awhile. Like I said earlier, I really liked SMB's games.

Big Lots sell one for $10. Cheapest in store you can get local. Ross and Marshals usually have cheap ones too. Keep in mind these are cheap. Don't wiggle them a lot. I'd also advise picking up the blu-ray/dvd remote for watching movies.

I would go with the 360. Gruden just bought one at Gamestop in Sevierville. He figured after getting a portion of the Browns, he could finally afford one. I only know this because I was setting at the Outback bar looking across a very crowded parking lot, about 200 yds, and saw him walkout. Also, he was wearing an orange tie. TIFWIW
