]I have a question about the memory on the games. I've never owned or used a modern console. The last console I had was a N64, since then I've been exclusively into PC games. My question is, How much is the memory used? Is it just used to save games or settings, or are you actually "installing" whole games on there like you would on a PC to play with out a disk? Would getting a 4g over a 250g system just lead to a hassle or would it actually gimp game play it's self? I'm looking at a system for those games that they no longer service on PCs. Hunting , Football, and other similar type things that for the last 8-10 years have ignored PCs. Thanks for any help.
The hard drives are just used for game saves and settings but also store any downloadable content for games. Some games don't use much space maybe less than half a gig but I had almost 2 gig in one call of duty game because of maps etc.
Having a 4 gig hard drive does not effect gameplay in any way. I have a 4 gig and its kind of a pain always making for space for stuff because I have Netflix and my girlfriend also uses the console. I'm looking for a bigger hard drive very soon.
You don't need to download the discs to the console but I know you can on Xbox but all it does is cut down on load times and you still need the disc to play.
