I have had a revelation. Working a muscle group once a week is plenty enough to still be able to make strength gains. I didn't believe it until now. And I've had less injuries.

Yea some folks think more is better & you need just a day rest for a muscle group. I usually hit each major muscle group once a week & maybe some supplemental lifts/exercise on Friday (my last workout day).

Just curious: what constitutes a terrible workout, IYO

I'm doing Max OT. Sets are to positive failure in the 4-6 rep range and I didn't even complete my second sets. I knew it was gonna be a bad night as soon as I lifted up the bar on my first warm up set.

IMO, not getting a good pump. It's the whole point of lifting.

IMO it's when you think you feel good only to start lifting & can't do as much as your previous workout for that muscle group. It happens though just like there's times you go in & feel like you can lift all day & night. I can usually get a good pump no matter what just sometimes its with lighter weight.

I've used NO Shotgun by VPX 3 times now. Pretty impressive. I think I'll put it in my PWO rotation. Tastes really good also.

I tried a Power Pilates class on Sunday as a change in the routine and I feel like I was in a car wreck. The bonus was that there were mucho hotties that allowed me to workout a bit harder, can't be getting showed up by some chicks.

More than likely you're out of alignment. Usually a rib when it affects your bench. Hang like you're going to do a pull up, arms at shoulder length, facing a mirror, and see if your head is a lot closer to one side.

A good masseuse can fix it.

Thought I'd dig this back up and give you a big :good!: for making the right call. Chiropractor said my first rib and clavicle were out of alignment and got it back into place. Haven't lifted since I posted about the weakness in my left shoulder, but, strictly from the ability to withstand downward force on my arm, all systems seem to be go. Should be back to lifting next week hopefully.

Good to hear you got fixed! I'm out of alignment all the time. It definitely makes a difference.

Well, so far so good without pre-workouts. went from 235 to 275 max on bench. 315 to 385 on squat, and 250 to 295 on deads.

Cliff builders bar lemon flavor. Best tasting protein bar I've ever had, try one asap.

The feeling resulting from vasodilation. Basically that tight, firm feeling in your muscles after strenuous activity.
