The Walking Dead

There isn't a whole lot of story they've been telling that I can tell. They've taken entire episodes to let us in on something that really shouldn't take long to get across. Basically an hour to give us 10 minutes worth of story.
I wholly disagree. No show on television at the moment gives WD a run for its money in character development and relationship dissection. Every plot advancement means that much more because of it, too.

Um...ok.

What plot advancement? After 4-5 episodes, nobody knows what Terminus is.

What plot advancement?
Well, let's see.
Maggie's search for Glenn.
Glenn's search for Maggie.
The scientist's hillbilly march toward Washington.
The individual groups' pursuit of the safe zone, some with reluctance.
Beth's abduction.
Darryl's apparent joining with a mysterious gang.

After 4-5 episodes, nobody knows what Terminus is.
So? Why the rush? Keep your Sunday night boxed out and enjoy the journey. Plenty of story to tell before they get there.

Maggie's search for Glenn and vice versa 5 episodes later is hardly any further.

We've had 1 episode with the "hillbilly scientist" and other than a blurb about what he's doing, we really know nothing else.

The last 2 literally just happened, and could have easily been done at least 2 episodes ago.

Those who want the writers to cram 5 episodes into 2 are probably premature ejaculators as well. To them sex is a 10 second ride and bam! They are finished.

So, you're conceding there has, in fact, been plot advancement. Glad we cleared that up.

Lol

I, for one, am glad they allow the scripts to breathe. We really get to know the characters.

I just don't see where the progression of this season is any different from seasons 2 or 3.

Sure Season 1 tended to be a little more action driven. It was only 6 episodes long.

I'm guessing the rest of you are still trying to round first base. Seriously though, you are way too sensitive to people being critical of the show.

:hi:

I've been watching this show since the premiere 4 years ago and since I'm 4 years invested into a show and it's characters I don't have a problem getting to know all of them a little better.

I just don't see where the progression of this season is any different from seasons 2 or 3.

Exactly what type of progression are you expecting in a post apocalyptic zombie show?

I'm not expecting anything. I've found I usually enjoy moves/tv better if I just enjoy the ride. I have no gripe with how they've managed the past few episodes.

My comment should be read as "why are people complaining when it was the same progression in season 2 and 3".

Ahh! Gotcha!

And for those complaining it could be worse. We could be watching them stuck on a farm constantly looking for a little girl for 6 episodes sraight.

She's in the barn.

Hahaha.

To answer your question from earlier... Part of me does't want anything bad to happen to Beth but nothing good can come from someone snatching her off the road, putting her in their car an driving off in the night.

Yeah I'm guessing it's not good, otherwise they would have stopped for Daryl.

Just like I concede a snail actually makes progress. And paint drying.

Thinking out loud here……..

Could the time line be mixed up….meaning that the episodes timing are mixed up and not in true order of occurrence?

Going back to the episode of Rick in the house and trying to escape, after it was taken over by the group of men.

In that episode, the men were overheard talking and saying "get her!"

Could Beth have been taken captive and Darryl joining that group before the Rick and the house episode? Could the men in the house have been talking about raping Beth when they were saying "get her!"?

That was discussed here a while back. Consensus, I believe, is that the timelines are not sequential by episode. I believe they were referencing Beth.
