Literally the doomdayers are saying this is Trump's Iraq..... That is idiotic. And anyone invoking the Middle East record as a precursor for this is just not a serious person. They are either uneducated or ignorant or both.

But you essentially nuked your argument from earlier when you said this decade isn't the 80's anymore. That is the most recent citing from YOUR post that you linked.

And once again, Venezuela is literally a few hours away. We don’t need to have massive on ground presence like we did in the Middle East where we were really working multiple counties over wide region.

And I'm pointing out to you that the US has a vibrant history of attempted regime change that doesn't involve the Middle-East.

One difference from Iraq is that the power vacuum is now in our hemisphere.

Precedent strongly suggests trump doesn't have a coherent plan for "running" a foreign country. To that end, I thought he was getting us out of foreign entanglements. Now the trump cult is all for running the western hemisphere.

Usually we're not really into that responsibility thing though. We prefer the 'compliant dictator' model.
