The Team USA thread

they are no dream team, i knw that's an unfair comparison but still. plus u even said that they put in the scrubs for experience. this is tune up games, not the real deal. we will see how they do once the medals are on the line, i hope they blow everyone out
They put scrubs in for the last 3 minutes of the 3rd quarter. That was it. They pulled away a lot more in the 4th against their starters.

gotcha. i think D. Howard will have a big tourney. Is it just me or is Melo a streaky shooter, he's the key i think

A lot of people think Melo is the best international basketball player in the world.
but they're wrong. Kobe is the best, 'melo's 2.

Forget mania, this is a good team, but lacks a center and it shows on the boards. They play more D than any team we've put forth.

Agree with bmfpv. It's a good team. They've no excuse for anything less than gold.

The lack of a true center doesn't really concern me. This roster is better equipped for international play than any team from the USA in years.

Team USA is for real...It was just a matter of time before China ran out of gas. Team USA is very deep.

I would like to see what would happen to one of the better international teams if they played in the NBA for a full season.

hmm..interesting. I feel they'd be better than alot of the nba teams...3/4, probably more...just because it would be a best of one country vs very a very good collection of athletes, but the nba's best players would be spread about amoung various teams so they wouldn't hold nearly as well as our olympic team does....course im not factoring in the wear-and-tear of injuries that international team'd have over the season

on another note, when is team USA's next game?

they would, even Argentina and Spain, be the worst team in the league. Even with some of the sorry outfits out there, you bring those guys here and force them to play m2m D with our lane, longer 3, longer game and faster pace. There isn't a team out there that could play with the raggedy Knicks squad.

Wouldn't be shocked by that... the Greece players were so whiney anytime they called contact when going to the basket for an And 1 play... and it's called waaaaaaaaaay more than that in the NBA.

Argentina on Friday morning for a spot in the gold medal game. Should be a dandy.

Spain vs. Lithuania opposite on the bracket.

Get up and make the commitment. I'm surprised at the number of people I know who have gotten up and actually watched it.

Please, the threat of being fired sometimes can't even get me out of bed for work some mornings.

Just goes to show how important team chemistry and the time needed to gel is. I'm still old school in that I dont think the pros should be going, but they are still making us proud.
