The Supreme Court of the United States Thread

I figured this would devolve into the current argument. I will stick to my two question logic:

1. What has a heartbeat, brain wave function, responds to stimuli, but is not considered "alive?"

2. What other organism contains 46 (usually) distinctively human chromosomes but is not a human?

Replies welcome.

Single cell bacteria is life on Mars, but a heartbeat isn't life on earth? - Tom Macdonald

This is where you lose me. Whether someone is 1 or 91, they have emotions, feel pain, and have cognitive thought. Objectively, those aren’t features at conception. At a certain point those features should take priority, before that point they are simply not there. They could be, might be, or might not be at some point after conception. But we know they aren’t AT conception.

But we agree it’s a human life at conception right?

Don’t think it’s dumb to celebrate this decision when 70 million babies have been murdered as a result of Roe. But whatever

He's a dumbass for publicly treating this as a holiday, he's doing exactly what Rs should not be doing and that is rubbing it in. Just go about his business and do his job.

This is fine parsing. They removed a constitutional right that had belonged to women for 50 years.
It was never an actual Constitutional right. The Constitution does not address abortion. A previous court ruling decided it fell under "right to privacy". The current court ruled it to be a state issue. Personally, I think the current court is more correct. The fact abortion is not addressed in the Constitution makes it a 10th Amendment issue that gives the power to each state to decide for itself. Instead of being all outraged that the court has decided the federal government does not have this overreaching power they feel they should have, Democrats should be concerned with taking the fight to the state level. But instead, they seem content to spread another false narrative, that SCOTUS just outlawed abortion. That didn't happen. Pretending that's what happened is disingenuous. Truthfully, I think we should be happy when federal government is limited. More things should be relegated to the states rather than fall under federal purview. If anything, this has created something for Dems to campaign on at the state level. But it should be at the state level.

DC and Virginia Brace for Riots as Leftists Target Downtown DC, Justices' Homes

Julio's source at D.C.'s Metropolitan Police Department said the agency was "currently deploying all available manpower to cover the city to prevent and respond to unrest" following the Supreme Court's ruling and officers were subsequently placed on "full mobilization."

The D.C. police's proactive response before anything has gotten out of control is a hopeful sign that radical leftists might be stopped from engaging in their threatened "night of rage" — but a quick look back at how Black Lives Matter and Antifa were not prevented from vandalizing, destroying, and burning blocks worth of the Capital City yields some healthy skepticism.

I hope the protesters have fun standing around baking in the hot sun today.

Do these idiots not realize that this goes back to the states to decide what's good there.

How big US cities are preparing for protests after Roe v. Wade is overturned

Police departments in major cities across the country were monitoring extremist groups as they prepared for potential violent protests Friday over the Roe v. Wade ruling.

New York City cops braced for a long night with beefed-up patrols as pro-abortion protesters planned to gather in Washington Square and Union Square in Manhattan on Friday night.

In Dallas, Texas, workers boarded up windows on a federal building downtown and were seen putting fencing around the perimeter as one social-media group urged protesters to avoid posting pictures online and to “wear a mask and nondescript clothing.”

The pro-abortion radical group Jane’s Revenge, which has already claimed responsibility for arson attacks and vandalism since the leak of the draft opinion overturning Roe v. Wade, published a letter last week declaring “open season” on pro-life pregnancy crisis centers.

The Supreme Court has handed down two historic victories – on the Second Amendment and abortion, delivering major blows to the anti-gun left and pro-abortionists. These victories would not have been possible without the vital appointments of constitutionalists by President Donald Trump. His supreme legacy.

These people are truly delusional. They will riot, burn federal property, and threaten the lives of Justice's and their families, then turn around and gasp at 1/6 and scream treason.

The bad stuff will occur in radical cities and maybe tomorrow the dumbasses will realize they have lost any right at all
