I was 29 when we won the NC. Buncha folks said if we didn’t win with Heath Shuler and Peyton and Leonard Little, it wasn’t happening. Felt olddddddd.

I wish many of the NegaVols would just shut up. Trust me no one wants us to be great more than me. This trashing of our players needs to stop. You complain about the quality of our players and go on to trash them. Truth be known most of you have never taken a snap at the D1 level. If you truly won't better players trashing the ones we have is not going to help. I know if I were an elite High School player and I couldn't make my mind up where I wanted to play. The way the fans treat the players just might weigh in to my decision. Pruitt knows football but it will take time. It is not his fault we have sucked for years. Give him and the team a break. I know it is probably not going to happen but at least I said something that needed said. SMH GO VOLS!

The whole “you can’t complain because you’ve never been a D1 athlete” stance you’re taking must mean you’ve never in your life complained or commented on politics since you’re not the President, a senator, or congressman. Right?

There’s a big difference between saying “Our defense is slow, tackles poorly, and has few SEC caliber players” to saying “Player X sucks, I hate him, I hope he never plays another snap”.

I don’t see much of the latter happening here. The former still upsets some folks though.

Tennessee Football won't be back until we recruit with the likes of Bama and now Georgia

Tennessee is already at a disadvantage because of the lack of solid talent in the State

Add on top of that, an administration that is half ass at best, cheap, and really doesn't give a crap as long as fans fill the seats


This gets you Tennessee Football. The laughing stock of the SEC

I never said you cant complain. Complain all you want to friends. I just think there is way to much of it on here. Everyone can read it. Sometimes silence is golden. As for my complaining about Politics. The few times in my life that I didn't vote, I kept my mouth shut. You seemed to have missed the part that it could effect a recruits decision. We will only get better with better players. Also to the other poster. I never said complaining decided the out come of a game.
I simply said it could sway a recruits decision. If you think that future players dont cruise this website you are WRONG!

Whether or not these pessimistic negavol fans want to admit it they live in a instant gratification world. They already set there self for disappointment if they thought this was going to be easy especially for the first game of the season.

There's a difference between being constructively critical and creating drama laced posts bashing a team because you have feelz from 2005.

Personally, I don't care either way but saying it doesn't make any difference on the field doesn't ring true to me. We just don't know what kind of, or how much, difference.

There is nothing instant nor gratifying about the state of Tennessee football for the past 11 years. How do people still not recognize this? Did you just miss the years in-between Fulmer being fired and Pruitt being hired? We are in the 11th year of a rebuild. These "fans are impatient" takes need to stop. I don't believe anyone expected Pruitt to come in here and make us SEC East champions in year 1 but we definitely expect to compete better than we did in that game.

The Haslams and their puppets have done everything possible (unintentionally) to destroy UT football.
I hope the Schiano fiasco has eroded some of his heavy-handed influence.

There’s no reason to be negative and those who just have unrealistic expectations about this team. Unfortunately we won 4 games last year, expecting these same players to all of sudden turn into World beaters.

This is gonna be a long year with many ups and downs. I think JP has us back in the thick of things in a couple of years. Right now, I’m just hoping we make a bowl game

Your not wrong, but it's nothing new. The emotions on here are like a yoyo. People will be acting like we're world beaters again after we destroy the two cupcakes the next two weeks. A bowl game this year will be a victory. That's just where we are. Maybe Pruitt is the guy, maybe he isn't. But, no matter what, people are going to be bipolar on here. Lord knows I let my emotions get the best of me on game day. Don't read too much into it.

After the first couple of series the line did pass block better. However on running plays the line did not get much of a push the whole game. Most of Jordan's runs he got on his own.

Every year for the last 10 to 12 years: “give coach x time, this team is young and inexperienced when coach x gets his players we will be great again let’s not judge coach x for 3 years then you can” Dooley was going to be great, Kiffin was going to be great, Jones was going to be great and of course now Pruitt is going to be great. How I see it every year the team is young and inexperienced? Stop with the same old lame excuses, Pruitt was brought in to win, he many turn out to be a great coach but after 1 game he is 0-1 and the team looked same as if Jones were coach. It’s not the fans responsibility to give complete blind faith to every coach like some of you do, want our loyalty, go beat a good team and stop making this program the new Kentucky.

Coach Pruitt's not playing, the players are and winning against good competition will be difficult with this group, baring a miracle.
Not trying to be negative, but I'll have to see it to believe it.

Brutal but a fair assessment of what we've done and (possibly) continue to do.
If CJP's team doesnt improve much this season and if he doesnt have elite recruiting while here, the writing is on the wall.
