The Runner's thread

There are some I bought at an expo and they are made for running. The have rubber on the nose and ears so they don't slip when you sweat and they cost around $40. I will see if I can find a brand name for them later

3.5 yesterday afternoon. 7:23 pace. My legs were shot yesterday. Taking today off and leaving for the Master's Wednesday afterwork for Thursday's round so that will give me a couple of days rest and should be back to running on Friday.

Like how you casually mention going to the Masters. :)
 
3.83 today. I think I only planned 3 but I didn't look at my training log to check. Don't know why I thought I'd be able to go 4.5 today, oh well. No aches and pains, legs are just tired.
 
6.2 miles through the beautiful, hilly farm country of Bowmantown, TN. The scenery was absolutely gorgeous with Spring in the air. Green pasture fields, dogwoods in bloom and birds chirping. Just spectacular. Finished in a pretty good 49:10, but make no mistake, the hills had their way with me at some points. The last mile and a half was relatively flat and I took off averaging a 6:10 mile for that final stretch. Imagine my time if I didn't have that flatness! Kudos to y'all that run these hills and mountains of East Tennessee every day. Sad to be packing up to leave here. My heart never left and never will.

2.86 today, didn't run yesterday, my entire body was sore. I can't believe how much a full out 5k can affect the next week of training. I might try for a few miles tomorrow, I'll see how I'm feeling.

Weekly Total: 9.69 Miles
 
Had to go to the doctor today because I have been getting light headed whenever I stand up. I was told I can keep running but I have to increase my salt intake. So run ers please make sure you are getting sodium in your diet

That's pretty impressive honestly. It's not easy to get too LITTLE salt today.
 
OK guys I'm back running I was walking 2 miles on the tread mill for about a month,
I was only going to the gym, do treadmill bike 2 miles and 1/2 mile elliptical for a month..

Then at home, I live way out in the sticks, I measured off 1/2 mile walked it a time or 2..
Then ran it about 5 times Then one day I did it and kept going did not stop was not tired... I ran or lets say jogged 2 miles back to my house made a loop.. Past the cows
horses it so beautiful. Now I have done it for 7 straight days 2 miles gawd I feel so good.. So I timed it and I do this 2 miles loop in exactly 30 min..

Question is this just a fast walk?? I have been sorta stepping it up.
I'am 58 years old.. My wife saw me and told me you look like a old man walking..
smart azz she is... and I was about 278lbS and today 268.
I used to run 3 miles every day about 10 years ago not run since then

The best way to consider if it is a run or walk is do both of your feet leave the ground at the same time?
 
3.2 trail run Saturday with lots and lots of hills. My legs are still a little sore. I am going to continue to run this trail at least once a week until it gets easier.
