The Runner's thread

Got 2 in on Saturday at tempo pace. I was planning on a long run but found out I was going to see the hunger games in less than two hours, so I decided to make it quick.

Got 3 in today. Now that I'm used to running outside again I'm starting to pick up the pace quite a bit, it's nice.

Felt bad yesterday afternoon. Felt really tired for some reason. I went ahead and ran and after my run I felt so much better. 3.2 miles yesterday in 22:45

That's a great time. Good job. It's taking me about 25.5 mins to do 3 miles

Legs felt like concrete today after my 5 mile run yesterday. Did an easy 3 to give them a rest. Was able to Keep ~8min/mi pace even with the stiff legs.

I did another 4ish miles tonight. Got a damn bug in the corner of my eye about halfway that I could not get out for the life of me. By the time I got home, that thing had worked its way behind my lid ways...had to cram a Q-tip back there to get it out. Ouch.

Shaved a minute off my pace today. 3 miles at 24:29, felt good

Ran a half on Saturday. Was averaging 8:05 a mile for the first 6.5 then my back gave out from a previous injury (incredibly hilly course). Ended up with a 2:25 finish. SOOO frustrating when you have been training for an event.

Sorry to hear that. At least you were able to finish

Key is you finished not a lot of people can say that

Thanks SDV and Pauls. It's just a sticky situation because I'm only 22 and now may have to refrain from such distance running just because of an injury two years ago. I knew it was going to cause problems down the road. Just didn't know this early. Upside is insurance will be paying for a nice new mattress :)

I bought a Cloud II. I'm a really light sleeper, and my wife can get in and out of the bed without it waking me. It's unreal. I have issues with my pelvis getting out of alignment, and this bed has helped tremendously.

I was hesitant to buy one because I had heard they were hot to sleep in. My experience has been that they aren't bad at all. Just FYI if that's an issue for you.

Don't really have to worry about the wide getting in and out at the moment (only 22) and with temp, that doesn't really bother me. Have an appointment set up with the neurologist coming up sí that should help in decision making.

Maybe you need surgery??

It's a possibility. Going into the doctors soon to get an assessment. They said everything healed up well after the injury but I have been pretty active since. Hoping nothing got messed up in the process.

Hope you recover soon

Thanks for all the input on shoes y'all.

Ended up going the minimalist route, wanted to try something new. Found a sale on the Reebok Realflex and picked 'em up. Ran 3 miles yesterday and 2 today. Really like them so far.
