The Runner's thread

I run alone cause my trail running friends are on different schedules. I have run with groups before and liked having having someone slightly faster to chase especially if it was a cute girl.

Cute girl would be nice but I would be too distracted to run. My time would be way slower than normal. :eek:lol:

Finally got all the guys here at work off their butts and went and ran as a group last night. They are all really just starting out running so they ran three miles and I ran four. It was fun running with a group for a change. I don't think I would want to do it every time I run but it was a nice change of pace.

Where did you run?

Ran almost 8 miles yesterday. Tip of the week - It's a smart idea to bring a bunch of gels when you run. Thinking I wont need those and leaving them in your car is not smart.

Got within 20 ft of a hawk sitting on a branch. Perfect picture except I left my phone in the car.

I've been weening myself off the treadmill for the past couple weeks. I started out at about 1.5 miles. I got 2.25 on Monday at Lakeshore, and I got about 2.85 at Lakeshore today. I even kicked the last 100m.

I never imagined I could run for that long. Even going 4+ miles on a treadmill I just thought the treadmill must be so much easier than outdoors. Feels great to finally be getting myself in shape.

10 weeks left until my half. Im 6 weeks into training and feeling great. Really enjoying running and increasing my pace

As a beginner, I completely understand that. I think the thing that's keeping me going the most is the constant improvement. It's kind of like racing against yourself every time you're out there.

Thinking I may go to the track and run tomorrow. Haven't decided. But I'm leaning that way if it isn't raining. Doing a strength training workout when I get up in the morning. Guess I'll see how I feel after that.
