The Runner's thread

My wife finished her second 5k race today. Time was 24:29 and she was the 11th female, but I am not sure how many runners there were. I am proud of her because she has been working the past three months towards this run and that is probably on of her best times.

Volnation is proud o your wife

If you hit 10 miles then you can handle the half marathon. Just make sure you give your body some time to recover from training so you will be well rested come race day.

Thanks. I am winding it down a bit the last 2 weeks. I've been following a 16 week training schedule I found online. It has worked well for me

My feet are definitely feeling like they've been overworked the past week or so. They're sore, not a serious paid., just think I'm going to give running a rest for the rest of the week.

It's good to take some time off every now and again. I know it can be frustrating but it's good for ya. You will come back stronger. Enjoy the rest!

Kinvara 3's came in today...

My last run with my old shoes was this past weekend. 13.1

total miles in my last pair 1023 (they lasted a lot longer then they should have)

starting to think I might actually have a stress fracture in my right foot. My left foot feels great now that I've rested it for this being the fourth day, but my right foot still hurts and the pain has dwindled down to the right top middle part of the right side of my foot for two days or so. Anyone have any knowledge or advice about stress fractures if this is indeed the case?

3 miles last night in 21:30. Still taking the Accerlade and still seem to be telling a difference in stamina during the run. Morning after runs my legs feel great too.

That's fast as hell smokey, dang! What do you use to keep track with?

Went out Sunday, Monday, Tuesday running. Tonight will hit trail again during son's soccer practice. Weight slowly decreasing. Weight are kind of like gas prices. Easy to go up but take a while to come back down.

Has anyone else tried the "run zombie" app?

It makes running into a game. You have to outrun zombies on your runs and you will pick up supplies along your run. When you complete your run you return back to your "base" and choose how to distribute your supplies.

Apparently an entire story will unfold on a run between songs. Just found this interesting. I have not tried the app, but I may before to long
