That a tiny % of the population would convince nearly half of Americans that there were 8 or 9 different "genders" which were somehow now decoupled from the rigid biological certainty of male/female. That we would have a president who couldnt even string together complete sentences, with clear evidence of the "big guy" getting 10% kickbacks from China etc bribing his family for influence on US policy , that the strongest military in the world would tuck their tails and get humiliated by a couple hundred poor camel jockies while fleeing Afghanistan...the list is endless. This reality is too warped for anyone to have believed it as even drug store paperback fiction a decade ago.

I am proud to be an American. Proud to come from a long line of patriotic folks, many of whom served this country. Can you honestly say that you are proud OF this country, in its current state? It's really a sad thing to see. And to be honest, Marcus, I don't know that what's going on can be stopped. Younger generations are blaming older generations for the problem, yet you aren't going to find much agreement with a lot of this crap among older people. Many of us who have been around a while and who disagree with a lot of change are just seen as too old and too intransigent - unwilling to adopt change - too steeped in tradition, therefore, obstructionists who simply oppose the new. As long as the "enlightened" fail to see that change for change sake leads to nothing good, they aren't likely to see where all this nonsense is leading.

It's not just age; there's a degree of political/social rejection that comes with every new generation. Mine was largely the age of antiwar/hippy crap that it seemed like half the people bought into. Some grow out of it, and some don't. My view is that the ones that don't become the lifelong liberals, and they haven't learned a damn thing over the years. Real effective change is evolutionary and slower - conservative; revolutionary change is the stuff that destroys civilizations - think the revolutions that drowned people in communism, for example - liberal. There's too much stupidity and desire for immediate gratification, and too little thought about where change goes and if it's positive change. Enhanced communications - cellphones, computers, and message platforms - give people the ability to speak their minds instantly and without thought - it's like always having the gas and matches to burn the bridge when the desire strikes and the lack of common sense to consider the consequence.
