The Dems lost in 1968 due to the Vietnam War. They lost in 1972 because the war was ending, and they ran George McGovern, who was the most liberal Senator in the country.

The Republicans lost in 1976 due to Watergate. The Dems lost in 1980 due to runaway inflation and the Iran hostages. They lost in 1984 because they ran Mondale, one of the most liberal Senators in the country, and people liked Reagan. The Dems lost in 1988 because they ran Michael Dukakis, a Governor from the most liberal state in the country.

The Republicans lost in 1992 because of Ross Perot, and the fact that Bill Clinton was a southerner, and considered a moderate. The Republicans lost in 1996 because they ran Bob Dole. The Republicans won 2000 because Al Gore was too liberal to carry his own state.

The Dems lost 2004 because the Dems ran John Kerry, one of the most liberal Senators from the most liberal state. You probably remember the last 8 years.

I did this all from memory and my perspective, not anybody else's view of the history of the elections.

I think if you look at the make up of the state houses during that time frame you may see D4H's point.

Since then, the Democrats have had a tough time after many switched parties in 1980. So, 11 years after the Civil Rights Act of 1965, the Democrats won 10 of 11 states of the old Confederacy. Doesn't sound like racism was the driving factor to me.

Yes the study did. The study addressed the use of force against suspects of all races. If your bogus claim were true, there would've been a significant difference due to the number of innocent black men you claim are targeted by the police. But the study showed the complete opposite. That police are more likely to use force against white suspects

Karl Rove was a young man in Texas when Reagan came into being. He had nothing to do with Reagan.

Reagan had John Sears as his chief strategist while a Governor, through his 1976 run for the nomination, and until partway through the 1980 campaign. He was let go and then William Casey was his chief strategist through the 1980 election. Ed Rollins ran his incredibly successful last campaign in 1984. Karl Rove was a Bush man, not Reagan.

While we're on the topic of liberal policies that kill black America, labor unions are a big one.

Construction workers in the south were almost 100% black up until I believe the 40s. Northern's got tired of being out bid on construction contracts. So they wrote a law saying you had to pay the common wage on construction contracts (which at the time meant the union rate). Because they couldn't compete with the cheap black labor.

Free markets work if you let them. When you restrict markets, it harms minorities the worst because they're typically the ones who have the least
