My little sisters are both black and she applied for and received several minority grants/scholarships. I am proud of her. No, you don't get free money for college just for being black. You do get access to more grants and scholarships than whites do, will get into most prestigious schools over a white male with equal grades etc. In the name of diversity, and have things like the United negro college fund that could never exist solely for whites. There are advantages. In my sisters case, however, there is no amount of help she could get with school that would give her a level playing field because she is HIV positive,since birth, and stays sick so much that even though she is brilliant it is hard for her to attend enough classes to keep her grades up. She spent 33 days straight in Utmed. Ctr. Last year fighting for her life. We went home to ktown for Christmas last weekend though and she is doing well right now. After a long fight with her insurance company, we got Marinol (thc) pills approved to give her an appetite and she has gained back 10lbs.that she lost while she was last sick. She really looks healthier. She is the sweetest,kindest, finest human being i have ever met. I dont think she will ever be able to finish school, there are simply too many germs on campus and her body cant fight off pathogens.

I finished up my undergrad at a historically black college and had I been younger I would have been eligible for minority grants and scholarships. As it was, I just paid cash earned from working bartending jobs.

They had to make laws because minorities would not get hired other wise. Also the biggest benefactors of AA are White women. They have gotten more AA jobs than anyone. So White people still benefitted from that.

Pay? That's your own fault

If you are already having a much harder time finding a job in your field and they won't negotiate what are you supposed to do? Not take the job or take it for less pay and try to prove your worth? You may not get another chance seeing how hard it is to even get an interview as a minority.

Housing? The government gives it to you almost free if you are poor. Programs exist to help minorities get homes. However watch out for another housing crisis as that was created by the government "helping out" with housing..


Loan rates? That's all about personal responsibility. Your own fault if you have bad rates.

Those two are tied together. Low interest loan rates from the government and banks have been denied to minorities. That lowered home ownership rates and rose foreclosure rates. Minorities with great credit still get higher interest rates than Whites with worse credit and lower income. This has been well documented. Black were intimidated into living into certain neighborhoods where rent was higher than the suburbs and nicer neighborhoods. Black were denied housing they qualified for due to race. Read a book sometime.

Whites were moved into housing projects too. They were built in existing neighborhoods. The government moved them to new suburbs. The FHA and VA guaranteed White families could move to homes with little or no down payment and extended 30 year amortization schedules. Monthly charges were less than rent from landlords. The FHA would set restrictions on Blacks being able to buy the new housing. They would not insure the loans. If they had the money and moved without a loan the FHA would not insure any White loans in the same neighborhood to discourage integration and hinder Blacks.
Education? Your own fault.

Judicial system? Your own fault.

It is our fault that we get more time for the same offenses? Its our fault White people and Black people use and sell drugs at the same rates but 80 plus percent incarcerated for drugs are Black.

Everything is in place in this country for everyone to get an equal shot. There will however NOT BE EQUAL OUTCOMES.

Most of those are for 1- 5 people. Show me the scholarships that all Black people get. Not some for the top 1%. Some of you think there is free money all Black people get. There is not. If you are a White student that is exceptional you can get just as many or more scholarships. :thud:

There are zero scholarships that disqualify a nonwhite student and there are 18,000+ that disqualify all but African American. None for white people. That's the end game. I don't care if it's for half a person. That's half a person more. Even if all were for one person, that is 18,000 people getting a scholarship that a white person CANNOT apply for. Your tunnel vision on this is astounding.

Bull****....... an educated black woman can write her own ticket at Fortune 500 companies. A black college student with good grades will have their choice when it comes to summer internships. If you deny this it's simply because you're not aware of these opportunities. Like it or not, quotas and the EEOC is real and does provide some incredible opportunities for both black men and women.... more so for women, but both nonetheless

I never said there are no minority scholarships. To act like Black people automatically get free money others get is a lie.

There are foundations and schools that give out scholarships after an interview process that weeds out minorities. Organizations like the Daughters of the Confederacy give out White only scholarships every year. Whites can get "minority" scholarships at HBCUs. You are misinformed like usual.

really, here is one that requires a person to belong to the NAACP to apply among other things. NAACP | NAACP Scholarships

I could find literally zero that specifies a recipient/applicant must be white. if there are none that specify white people to limit other races, and there are plenty that limit white people by specifying a minority how is it an equal playing field, and how do we get just as many opportunities?

when filling out any scholarship application it always helps to be able to check that minority box. Middle class white males are at the bottom of the list. heck just being a girl my sister got twice as many scholarship offers and colleges coming after her than I did.

all of this said: there is no plight for white people scholarships. I had to earn every one I got while competing against everyone. thats the way it should be.

All the data available contradicts this. You are going off of emotion and not fact. The largest benefactor by far has been White women.

I will say this..... there were many that didn't particularly care for white boys coming around trashing up their HBCU. The issue came up in numerous classroom discussions during my time there.
