AJ had 53 pitches in Saturday's game against Cincinnati. At most, I would think two innings if he can keep his pitch count under 30.

This was my thought when I saw it as well. My guess is Tony is hoping to set the tone early and get off to a good start. If AJ has his premium stuff and can give 2 scoreless innings and we make go grab an early lead, it could help get the crowd into it and put a lot of pressure on Wake.

I’m not sure what Doyle’s bullpen pitch count is after he starts , I’m gonna say 40 to 50 pitches but that’s only a guess , I’d say 3 innings max for him

That's not good for the game period. They should let any of there employees have the tickets to fill the seats. I'm sure there donation is rather substantial. Just not good seeing empty seats.

As the season progresses, scouting reports get fleshed out with stats. which give opposing batters an advantage. Might explain what we're seeing.
