I used to think expanding the stadium was worth what it comes with. Now I wish we hadn’t bothered. The atmosphere was better before.

For those that will say Tony had stadium expansion as part of his deals to stay here.. I don’t doubt that he probably feels exactly the same as me right now.

I actually think expansion is the only way to get the environment back. If we kept the stadium at 3,000 seats the atmosphere would be even worse. Fewer seats but extremely high demand for a national championship team would mean that the stadium would be almost exclusively the “wine and cheese” high-dollar donor crowd.

This is why I’m hopeful that next year once the renovations are complete when we add an additional 1,500 fans into the final stadium maybe we can get more of the average Joe and Jane back in there.

I agree with this. The last place we need to place blame is on the fans. Can they effect the game, sure in some capacities, but it's on the player's to make plays. The stark difference as far as crowd from this year to last year has been moving the student section, it definitely hurt the overall atmosphere.

If the team doesn't have enough juice within itself to win today, we need to assess what players we have in our locker room. This is what kids dream of.

There are plenty rabid fans that would love to be there, but the country club fans have ruined LNS and Food City center. The passionate common fan can't afford the tickets

Probably right. It was expensive for me to go then, but it’s more expensive now. I think with construction costs being so high, it’s a catch 22. They’ll charge more and more to try to offset the costs of expansion to the point we’ll have more seats being paid for by people who give them away as corporate rewards to customers, etc. or by the wealthy who have empty seats all year but show up for a series or two.

This. Most of the younger generation can barely afford to survive with inflation much less buy expensive tickets to a baseball game

I make around 50k and I don’t know that I’d have any disposable income if my wife and I weren’t so lucky to have two paid off cars with family help by the time we went off on our own as well as help with the kids. You’re right.

Not trying to argue with you on the loudness as I wasn’t at any of those games in person, but I can guarantee one thing, nobody wants to cheer when Curley’s throwing the ball over the ss head or bArgo’s going 2 for 12 and making an errors in the outfield. It’s deflating at a minimum.

My thoughts on tonight's pitching.

I'd start Snead. He's got the most post season experience of guys id expect to be available.

Don't think he is available. Threw too many last night. Don't even think he can come in for relief.

He threw 41.... He could give one maybe two innings which is all I'd want. Use him as an opener and try to shorten the game.
Let's say I'm wrong about bringing Doyle back and he can give 1, then you only have to cover 6 innings which is one time through for Kuhns and Krenzel which is doable.

Not sure what his mindset would be if he were to be available. Might be best for him to just observe in case UT pulls it out tonight.
