The official UT vs UCLA game thread

D looks awesome???? You do realize that UCLA's offense is pathetic! If you play like this against the Gators you will get mauled.

what has the D done today to look vulnerable? I realize it's UCLA but their O is doing absolutely nothing. Saying UT's O is looking bad is one but don't call out the UT D

Let's not get too worried. Don't forget, South Carolina looked horrible in the first half, had a good second half and everyone is talking about how good they looked. Our defense has a no-hitter going...it was special teams that let us down.

I watched that game all the way thru and SC took a win but looked like sh*t the whole 4 QTRS!!

Lets not aspire to follow in there footsteps!!

hopefully the offense is just in the "cutting teeth" phase. it should improve as the season progresses.

games like this, however, show that many took david cutcliffe for granted. he wasn't as bad as everyone made him out to be

I think that's it. And, I see a lot of upside for the offense when those teeth come through. Let's just hope it's before the UF game.

This is still only a one score game, one more screw up, ala the punt block... combined with our offensive ineptitude, and we could lose this game.

That being said, I think we get a couple scoring drives in the second half and win by 14.

I agree with ruslt...Craft is making some poor positions, but look at how our defense is in place to take advantage of those mistakes. They look very well coached and are staying home, playing quick, and keeping us alive.

Kevin Craft keep doing what you are doing and we will win by 3 td's....if our defense can return the INT's for TD's that is.

Not exactly a good showing by the Vols offense on a nationally televised game. We obviously need more work.

Everyone is asking about Hardesty, perhaps our coaching staff forgot about him again.

I was very close. I called for a pick and runback by Berry right before the snap.

Is it me or is Jon Crompton telegraphing the snap when he is under center.....watch him when he calls for the snap, he leans back before he gets the ball..in my opinion, this is what caused the fumble earlier in the game....

You get away with this stuff against UCLA, you don't against Florida.

I just wonder about Crompton's mechanics, especially considering he is a junior.

I don't see a dynamic change in the pass rush from us. That worries me.

Though Craft is not an All-American by any means... he's been throwing under pressure or out of the pocket or both. The D-Line has forced him into bad decisions.

As I've said to my wife, we'll see how that holds up against the likes of UGA, UGA, Aub, etc...

Unless the field cracks open and swallows the entire Tennessee team we will win by at least 3 td's. Cool out guys this is a new O we are breaking in here.

I can't wait to her what Fulmer has to say!!

Too bad no reporters will be astute enough to ask where the hell is Hardesty?

I'd have to think he's injured, or did something disciplinary wise to be sat out or something. Fulmer cant be this dense. Can he?

That's a interesting thought. hrmm

I'm surprised we haven't seen a couple of rollouts from Crompton. He is mobile--take advantage of it! Also, UT hasn't thrown to the TE. A big problem is that the Vols make mistakes to screw up possessions--a crompton fumble, two penalties on another possession, foster runs into crompton, crompton rushes a throw. Offenses nowadays have to beat single coverage--a lot of it comes down to that: a d will load up to stop the run, leave a db or two in single coverage--and you've got to beat that coverage. If you can't, you struggle. The offense doesn't look a whole lot different from cut's, frankly: I thought Jones would get the ball a bit more. This game is like SOOOOO many UT games in that Fulmer's teams can't thump anybody halfway decent anymore--every game is a struggle. It's time for a beat-down, please.
