Guy hands off then watches the RB. Probably has certain hand motions that determine presnap run or pass for the defense. Does he help the OL see the alignment of the defense? Coaches are afraid for him to do too much.

The defense needs the offense to do their part and give them something to fight for. If the offense isn't putting up points, then it's easy for the defense to get discouraged against a team as good as Alabama.
