I know, this is kinda what all Titans fans are trying to figure out. Collins is just a backup. Emergency plan. (knock on wood)

But they are dragging their feet big time.

yeah, i thought once reese was gone, things were looking up, but at this point it seems like the new GM doesn't believe in improving his roster :banghead2:

just posted this on another thread, but i might as well add it to this one too, Patrick Kerney is reportedly a Seahawk now.

Saw on PTI today where Belicheck was apparently interested in Moss. Stallworth is the backup plan, I guess.

Yeah, with them signing Welker, and the rumors about Moss, I was surprised to see Stallworth and the Patriots mentioned in the same breath...I'll have to try to find an article about it or something

Stallworth is supposed to be in NE today, and assuming they don't sign him today he will be in Nashville tomorrow for talks.

Isn't the new guy supposedly a financial or salary cap guru and unfortunately that side seems to be winning over keeping and/or getting more talent. :frown:

yeah, i remember reading that now that you mention it. but at this point it seems he would be more suited running a small market MLB franchise instead of an NFL team. With their cap space available, they could have easily signed a couple of top end FAs without getting caught up in salary cap hell. Instead, they will probably sit back and sign a couple of marginal players, while their holes on both sides of the ball become more glaring by the day. They were so close to turning the corner last season, and now they are taking huge steps in the wrong direction.

Article in the Chattanooga paper today says Titans are ready to get down to business now that the early signing dust has settled. They will be bringing in 2 players Thursday and 2 Friday but doesn't name them although 1 is expected to be Stallworth.

If we could sign Stallworth and Jamal Lewis, I'd be very happy. Then we could go in the first round of the draft and try to get a guy on defense at DE or CB. Heck, I'd even be happy if we go Patrick Willis or traded up to get Leon Hall

Stallworth was offered something like $32 mill over 6 years by the Pats and rejected it. He will now visit the Titans.

On another note, apparently the Titans are going to look at pursuing Kelley Washington. Ughhh....

Hey, why not. Tennessee is where it's at for #3 WRs.

Except KW was only what, #4, in Cincinnati?

Stallworth and Jamar Fletcher were supposed to meet with the Titans today. The Titans also lost Bobby Wade to the Vikings, leaving them with only one of their top 3 WRs from last season. Losing Wade also takes away their 2nd returner, and with uncertainty about Pac's status, returner may be yet another hole the Titans have gained this offseason.

I've heard that the Titans have been interested in Willis Maghee aswell. Say we sign Stallworth and a RB, what do we do with our first round pick? Still go with a WR or defense?

If it were me, I would still take a WR. Even if they do add Stallworth, that would give them a 2 and a bunch of 3's and 4's. They need to rebuild the receiving core, and taking a bunch of WRs in the 2nd day won't help matters. I wouldn't be surprised if the Titans traded the pick either. From what I read today, Reinfeldt wants to go after some restricted FAs, which depending on the player, could come with a 1st round price tag.

I wouldn't mind taking a WR but I would probably prefer DE or DB.......WR is pretty deep in this years draft and they could probably land a good one in the 2nd or third round.

Jason Hill or Dwayne Bowe in the 2nd round. My money is still on Reggie Nelson going to the Titans.

I would like to get Houston from Arky but I think he will be gone by then. Nelson would be a good pick though.

That would be ideal. Hill and Thompson are terrible at their respective positions so either Houston or Nelson would be an upgrade.

You are right. Thompson is clueless and while hill usually has good position he has a hard time finding the ball.

I heard the Titans offered Donte Stallworth a contract and he's in Miami today and we should know something by the weekend
