The Official NASCAR Talk Thread

Yes, and that describes most restrictor plate races. The racing was exciting a few years ago when they had the two car tandems, but they broke it up and went back to the pack racing.

Yeah...

during the winter, I'm all "I can't wait for Daytona".

and once it's here ....

Going from Hendrick to Roush-Yates engines is a downgrade.

Based on what?

Sure Harvick won the championship 2 years ago, and Team Hendrick is strong but those engines alone aren't doing anything for RCR or CGR.

Roush's team is a mess, but the engines are fine.

RCR builds its own engines.

But I can also say that Roush engines don't have the same horsepower that it once did. You can tell on tracks like Michigan and California, where horsepower is key.

Is there anybody in a nascar fantasy league? For those that follow, how much does the new aero package affect Atlanta? According to past stats, this track favors harvick and Johnson (group A drivers) and Newman and Kahne as the group B drivers. My gut tells me that the new aero package will change these stats. I'm leaning towards Logano(A)Edwards (B) and Larson (B). Any thoughts?

you are correct ...don't know how I made that mistake.

If the horsepower difference is indeed that tangible I can only assume that Ford is investing heavily in to SHR's research and design efforts.

I'd look at the results from the kentucky and richmond races from last year. Those were the races where they tested the packages for this year.

SHR always was supplied Hendrick engines. I doubt they have much, if any, engine research except what they had from Hendrick.

Roush engines used to be top of the line, but Hendrick and Gibbs engines have the most horsepower and it shows on the 2 mile tracks.
