The Official Lakers Thread

Add AJ, D-White and Nash. Barnes will be better as well. He is a good role player for a winning team. We have a better team now. And we were fairly good already.

Steve Nash
Kobe Bryant
Antawn Jamison/Metta World Peace
Pau Gasol
Dwight Howard

Wow. I haven't been this excited about the Lakers since it was Payton/Malone/Kobe and Shaq

I'm stoked on this, and blown away at how many good players we kept during all of this. Mitch deserves GM of the century. Signed Antwan Jamison, Jodie Meeks, Steve Nash, and Dwight howard while only loosing Josh McRoberts, Christian Eyenga (spellcheck), and Andrew Bynum. I didn't see Sessions re-signing anyways so I didn't count on him being here. Can't wait to watch these guys play together for the next two years. I'm also happy that we got Steve Nash. Dude deserves a title. GO LAKERS!!!

FYI, Jodie Meeks is the 12th best SG in the NBA in 2012, in terms of wins produced.
Very underrated pickup.

Looks like Bean should have taken a few more shots last night.

He was on fire. Normally you'd want him to take a few more. Dallas shot a high % and didn't turn the ball over. That's the biggest reason they lost. The Ds gotta play better. Dallas shouldn't be scoring 99 without Dirk on the road.

Hopefully this team gets into a little better rhythm tonight against Portland. I'm not expecting Los Angeles to start off the season hot. I do expect them to hit stride around January, however.

My bad, it was a shin or knee. This game is going bad. For the second consecutive night, the third quarter kills Los Angeles.

Why the hell is Pau Gasol and Dwight Howard getting 40 minutes on a Wednesday on the road against Portland in the second game of the year?

So. Stupid.

Steve Nash in this offense is a whole bunch of fail.

He had 4 assists in 16 minutes. That's not bad. Give them some time to gel a little.

Kobe's 7 turnovers didn't help, though he had another good scoring night.

He is a fish out of water in that offense. In two games, he has played off the ball more than his entire career at Phoenix and Dallas combined. You limit his effectiveness offensively, and then you are stuck with his D. It's an awful fit.

Don't jump off the bandwagon just yet. I'll admit this team has a lot of flaws, however. Gasol and Nash fit well together, but they aren't going to gel with there counterparts, though. These guys have to find a way to make it work. Maybe bring Gasol off the bench?
