Yeah, I saw that nonsense. Wasn't even worth a response.
It is what it is. They have got a great nucleus. Lakers have nothing going forward but a high draft pick. We will see what pick they get and what they do with it but unless LA signs some top tier free agents soon it's going to be awhile before they contend again.
They will sign some free agents. That's why this season went the way it did, they just gave a bunch of random players 1-year deals and tanked the whole season to get a high pick and not have hardly any contracts on the books heading into free agency. Im guess next years team will look completely different than what we saw this year.
You've got half your money tied up in a guy that can no longer be a centerpiece for a championship team for the next two years.
Even though this class is good, I don't think any of them are ready to be the 1st or 2nd option on a championship level team.
Unless you're signing Durant in 2016, which I think is highly unlikely, your left with supposed superstars like Melo and Love. Neither of which is capable of carrying a team to a title.
I'm pretty sure Kobe loved the hire. D'Antoni was his favorite player in Italy and I thought they had a great relationship. There are articles where he is quoted as saying he was excited, but what else is he going to say? I must be tripping.
Hated it at first. After thinking on it I think it'll be a great fit. He's tough which Kobe will love and we need a little toughness after having Dwight and Pau.
