The Official Lakers Thread

Pau is making his critics look like idiots tonight. I've said it before, but a healthy Pau Gasol is still a more than serviceable post player in this league.

earlier tonight, Bill Simmons said "what i learned this season was that if your system says to play Earl Clarke over Pau Gasol, you need to scrap that system"

We can only amnesty 4 players this year. MWP, Blake, Pau & Kobe. The only player we have signed past 2014 is Nash (unless we re-sign D-White). The Lakers will look markedly different very soon.

I don't think it's a good idea to trade with each other. Too risky for one of them to get a bad side of the deal. Fans would never forgive those involved.

I'm impartial either way. I think they are two of the most overrated players in the NBA. I don't think Dwight is worth signing for the max, but I also don't like taking on Blake's contract. I would just let Dwight walk.

And get nothing? Are you really wanting to see a complete rebuild?

Interesting. I'd rather my team not completely suck for the next 5 years but that's just me.

I agree with you. If I'm a Lakers fan, I'd gladly take Griffin and Bledsoe over any other alternative.

With that being said, if there's a year to tank, this is the one to do it. There seem to be at least 6 players in the draft that could change a team's fortunes rather quickly. I'm not sure the Lakers could make themselves bad enough for that to matter, but I think it could potentially work out well for Boston.

No doubt. If I'm Boston I'm trading Doc/KG for anything that resembles youth.

If I'm the LA I'm trying to get something for Howard.

Building with the draft can take a long time. Lakers do have an easier time signing FAs than anyone, but I don't think players will be as willing to deal with the new management.
