The Official Lakers Thread

I think Bynum is one of the most under-appreciated players in the league, but I'm thinking the coach is in-bounds for benching him. Especially since Bynum basically said he would do it again. What a dummy. He has to have his squad under control.

I actually agree with this. Although I'm sure we disagree with who actually handles the situation with Bynum.

side note: I've been on these forums for a little while now, and have never payed any attention to all the different forums/threads. Awesome to see some other Vol/Laker fans here. Been a fan as long as I can remember. GO LAKERS!

btw Kobe again showed tonight why there isn't another player night in/night out like him. He is truly one of a kind. Thank you Charlotte!!!

No one wants to mention the Lakers dominating performance with their worst player sitting out? Bynum and Pau had such efficient nights. Kobe should definitely hang em up. He's killing this team.

The Suns won (and scored 125) because they hit 14 3's. You think Kobe would've kept the Suns from shooting 48% from 3 point? With a TS% of .605, Phoenix was absolutely on fire!

They replaced Kobe with Devin Ebanks and scored 105 points on a night where Bynum was terribly off. This does not speak well for Kobe.

Bynum plays poorly, and Kobe's out, and still Lakers manage a road win. Looks like their team may not be that bad after all.

Surprised you didn't come on here today to point out that the Lakers are 2-1 on the road without Kobe (including a beatdown of the red hot Spurs). Not to mention they are outscoring their season average.... :whistling:

They lost by 20 to the not going to the playoffs suns, they beat the mighty hornets by 2, and it took Ron artest having his best game in probably 5 years to beat a spurs team coasting to the finishline. The fact that you called the spurs "red hot" let's me know how well you follow the NBA.

You joking? Won 11 of last 12 going into their game with LA. Do you follow the NBA?

And the point is they are scoring and winning without Kobe. Regardless of the circumstances, it's happening and you were certain it wouldn't.

Either way, neither of us are Lakers fans and the only thing we'll ever agree on is how overrated Derrick rose is, so there's not point in continuing conversation.

There is a point to me. I wanted you to eat some crow, but you don't seem to think the Lakers winning 60% of their 100 games without Kobe means anything. Why would you think winning 2 of 3 on the road without Kobe means anything? You're right...there is no point.

:eek:lol: oh man, the irony!

?? Two games ago Duncan Parker and Manu didn't even play. Last night, none of them topped 27 minutes. The spurs hit cruise control to finish out the regular season. They may crank it back up to get some momentum going into the postseason, but not now. This is like beating the Yankees last October after they clinched and benched everyone. Kudos.

So cruise control is how they won 11 of the last 12?

Duncan and Manu should've been well-rested for the Lakers game, if they didn't play against the Jazz. Ginobili averages 23 MPG, so he actually surpassed his season average.

The Spurs were down big the entire 4th quarter, so not surprisingly they chose to rest Parker and Duncan.

Should be a good one tonight. I really need the Lakers to win. Jazz are 1.5 games back from the 8 spot.
