My surprise is more that the Colts could actually run the ball that well, regardless of opponent. And that they could hold any team to only 66 yards rushing.

You think Miami will be a top 5 draft pick next year? I don't. I wouldn't assume Washington or Seattle will be either, especially with the Messiah quarterbacking any of the above teams.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to downplay a good game rushing; tennessee's just sucked at defending it all year
(there's probably also some small pro-Donald brown segment of fans who were waiting for a game like this)

The titans have also had issues running the ball all season much deeper than just 1 player (as much as some would like to say it's just "Johnson got his money, now he's lazy and doesn't care about the team and its success anymore")....there's also the fact that (you could see it starting at the mid-end of last season) after 2-3 seasons of having to play him and deal with the type of threat he brings twice every season, the colts -as well as the other afc south teams - have taken steps necessary to alter their defensive personnels and strategies/gameplans as to better defend and contain Johnson (the colts played to keep him running on the inside; the South teams all play a "make sure you know where he is at all times when he's on the field" type setup...a lot of times involving one linebacker (or two) more or less shadowing him whenever he's on the field - the texans assigned Cushing to such a role (wherever Chris went - even if he was lining up wide after motion - Cushing went also...I didn't pay attention to how the Colts were doing it, Angeler might have had such a role or they may have done something different; jags I'm guessing Paul pozlusny may have been brought in for such responsibilities)

QB alone won't fix all woes...if he's really being compared to manning, the fact that the colts went 3-13 his first season I'm sure has come up before somewhere

Brown was close to being cut before this season, and still might but you are right, that's what many Colts fans have been looking for from him.

CJ is not an elite player in my opinion anymore, but that oline is pretty bad at run blocking. Also, my thoughts on CJ are that maybe they beat him to death in the early seasons. Their whole game plan was run left, run right, run middle, pass to CJ.

Thanks to the 49ers for beating the Steelers and making our SOS weaker. That's helps in case the Colts screw up and win one more game.

You should thank Big Ben and all the stubbornness in the sports world that says you're not a leader if you don't play through pain. It's not always what's best for your team. Big Ben looked horrible. They should've yanked him.

I agree, watching him walk out of the tunnel it was easy to tell he was hurting bad. Sometimes you have to just say you can't play, he hurt his team last night no question about it.

My understanding is now the only way we would not get the first pick is if they won both games and now way that happens.

True but it's pretty much mirrored. The Rams played Pitt as well and SF is pretty much at the same place as Houston is

If you have to bank on SOS, better to cheer for continued NFC East wins and wins by the Seahawks and Cards

I think the Colts still draft Luck. Manning's not gonna play that much longer IMO. 1-2 more seasons. They could always trade the pick, move down and get RG3 or Barkley if he comes out.
