The Official Indianapolis Colts Thread

You're always so bitter, justin. I get that it's not fun having nothing to cheer for all year, but jeez.

Bitter? My team is close to getting the best QB (potentially) in the draft in over a decade. I have had a decade of cheering for a team in the playoffs every season, unlike you. Today was a great day, nothing better than betting the Titans, no one I would rather beat. So no I am not bitter at all.

I'll just leave this here:

Sure has been some fun reading today. Not surprised at all the Colts won this game, this was the only one they had a chance at.

And unlike the Front office, the players were playing for actual continued employment/careers in the league

...you guys could probably beat jax though, if they lockdown the run in a similar manner or setup to how they've played TN the past 3-4 times

Players always continue to play to win regardless of front office moves.

I don't see any way they beat the Jags, their D is very good.

That's why I said, potentially.

I'm just a "don't jinx it" kind of guy; we've seen alot of great guys not turn out in the league

I also still think they should market it to get a Ricky-Williams-esque deal. Having a good QB is great and all, but that defense needs a drastic overhaul, and really has for quite some time...and that's really what wins these teams playoff games and championships

Kind of. Some of these guys play a little harder to keep their jobs in these situations.

Also while jax is really good against the pass, they're surprisingly just okay against the run. If they can somehow cause mjd to have a mediocre 50-60-70 yards game, I think they have a chance

That's true and one never knows but this guy has all tools to be great.

I would be very nervous in trading the pick (if they get it) because you don't want him beating your head in for the next 12 seasons or so. The D does have some good pieces but they do need help. Angerer is a stud, I really like Drake Nevis, Powers and Bethea are good. But they do need some help. But I believe their issue is more scheme and not that they are actually that bad.

The current NFL its mostly points that wins game, the mainly play D days are over for at least this period of time.

Well, I mean clearly, if a trade is done, it's not going to be done within division or to someone you're likely to regularly play...trades in general don't go that way.

The defense does need some scheme help, but this season seems to have shown that - other than a select few - there's also quite alot of personnel issues. It's a defense who's only defensive concern when put together seemingly was to not allow quick scores for a few drives so that Manning could build on whatever lead they currently had.

I'll agree that it seems at least this season, it's more offense based than defense, and it's been for quite some time that either an offense that can score alot or a really good defense can get you to the playoffs. However, you guys have seen for several years that the teams getting through the playoffs and playing in/winning the super bowl have had to have really good to great defenses as well...you guys have actually seen over several years what's happened in the post season when the plan's just been put everything on manning's back and expect *him (or the offense) to (continue) carrying the team through the 2-4 game gauntlet that is the playoffs

...and also, personally,*I don't think you can take this one year - a year when there also was no offseason at all - as a sign of impending major change or the end of any sort of era.

Yea I agree with that but franchise QBs are few and far between. IF he is what most think he is I just don't think which ever team gets that pick can pass on him. As a Colts fan the only way I would be ok with a trade is if Peyton is 100% healthy and a team is willing to give up multiple picks and out of those at least 2 of those picks better be first rounders.

Really? You don't see any way titans beat the jags.

:eek:lol: it's funny to watch you constantly talk out your ass. Your overwhelming hyperbole in every statement reminds me of a child.

Maybe you should pay attention to the whole conversation, I was talking about the Colts, genius.

Colts offense rushing - 205 yards
Titans offense rushing - 66 yards

Stat of the game.

Tennessee hasn't been able to stop the run all season; I believe the stat was that 10 straight games they've given up over 100 yards rushing (or something...might be 10 of 14 games they've allowed a 100 yard rusher, not sure)

Shouldn't be all that surprising

So if Miami, Washington, or Seattle were willing to give up - among other things - multiple first round picks (like including 2-4 over a 2 year period)?

I would probably be ok with that. Especially seeing those teams would probably be picking top 5 again next season. Again for me all this would depend on Peyton being 100% healthy.
