The Official Indianapolis Colts Thread

Not to mention if he is traded I think the Colts still suffer with regard to the salary cap.

You might be right, I am not sure. I am not going to pretend to fully understand the NFL contracts, but I do know that this contract he signed was essentially a 1 year deal with a four year extension.

I just heard Pat Angerer leads the league in tackles. I really like this guy, the first time I saw him play I though he had a chance to be really good, a pro bowler. He really doesn't fit the usual type of LB the Colts go after. See ya Brackett.

I don't think tackles are an official stat, so there may be a statistical service tracking tackles that actually has him with the league lead.

VFJ - Did you see how the Tampa-2 killed the Bears yesterday. Although Marion Barber is getting all of the blame for the loss, I thought Chicago's decision late in the game to rely on the Tampa-2 defense was a huge factor in the loss. The soft defense allowed Denver to catch the ball and get out of bounds. Tim Jennings (former Colt) had an especially bad play. Its crazy how defensive coordinators continue to use this defense in passing situations.

Dolphins fired their coach, Caldwell should be next. No NFL should go winnless or even come close.

I did see that, I was telling my wife as it happened, I can't figure out why teams continue to do that. But you and I have seen that same D every snap of every game for the last decade or so.

Dan Orlovsky will walk away from the game with the distinction that he started for the only two 0-16 teams in NFL history. How does it feel, Dan?

Rumor I have read, is that Peyton has been practicing in pads and helmet recently. Same rumor from 2 different people.

Also read there is a huge rift between Peyton and Bill Polian and there is a chance Irsay will have to make a decision between the Polians and Peyton at the end of the season and that if Peyton is healthy the choice will be Peyton.

Fisher would go to Indy possibly only as long as Peyton was the QB or the Polians were still there, he probably would not go there if all 3 were gone.

For the first time in a long time I am starting to think Peyton could be back on this team next season.

I don't believe it.

I don't believe it.

You joking or is that a serious statement?

The first sign was when Polian came out and said that he had spoke with Peyton about drafting his replacement but then Peyton said on CBS before the New England game that was not really true. Also when Mort came out and said Peyton had another surgery on ESPN most people believe he gets his info straight from Polian himself.

If there is a rift, I don't believe that it's huge, especially to the point where the Colts have to keep one or the other.

Just what I have read, not sure how true. I have saw it wrote by two different people. I would say Bill P retires after this season either way and I would not be surprised to see Irsay fire Chris P

Yeah, I wasn't calling you out, I was saying I don't believe what's being reported.

Glad to see Peyton is throwing to receivers. But wouldn't the crucial thing be how his neck handles such a workout? I'll start getting excited when I hear he's been throwing in game type scenarios and his neck is holding up fine (both subjectively and from MRI or whatever they are using to check it).

Congrats on the first win of the season.

I've always said everyone in the NFL at least manages to win 1 game each season (shocked me when he lions didn't that year)
