Breaking now: Larry Coyer fired. :dance2::dance2:
Good news but who replaces him? Is it just an Interim guy for the rest of the season until the rest of the staff is let go too?
Had a thought about Manning if this is the end for him. Can you imagine how frustrating it must be for him to watch Curtis Painter? Maybe he sticks around to tutor Luck just so he can get this year's taste of horrendous quarterbacking out of his mouth!
"X-ray and CT examination of the surgical area shows that the fusion performed in September has achieved firm fixation," Dr. Robert Watkins said in a joint statement with Manning released by the team. "Peyton will now be allowed to increase the intensity and breadth of his workouts as tolerated. There remains every indication that his recovery will continue.
"There still is no timetable for Peyton's return to practice, which is one of many steps in his expected return to game action."
Manning, who had a follow-up appointment with Watkins on Wednesday, was optimistic
"I am encouraged with what Doc had to say," Manning said Thursday. "I am happy that I can increase my rehabilitation program as outlined by him, Erin (Barill) and the Colts medical staff. I am hopeful for continued progress in this next phase of my rehab."
.Manning has said that he'd like to practice with the Colts sometime this month and perhaps play in a game late this season.
Kinda sounds like one or the other...
Archie Manning doubts that Peyton and Andrew Luck want to be teammates | ProFootballTalk
Dang. It really is time to fish or cut bait. I look at the Colts team, and this (other than OL) is basically the same team Manning carried to the SB in 2009. I'm not sure Manning has the ability to do that anymore. I'd love to see him land somewhere nice where he'll have more help...howsabout Houston (Tennessee fans would love that)?
The Colts would never trade Manning to Houston...
Ah, okay. Still don't think Houston wants him, but if they falter and miss the playoffs again this year, they may get desperate.

I don't think they're trading him. His contract is HUGE and they have an option to release him after this year. I'm not really sure anybody will want to pay Manning what the Colts were paying, considering his neck, so I'm thinking a trade is unlikely.
Can contracts be reworked in order for a trade to be more likely? Wouldn't that make sense for both the Colts and Manning?
I think they can but with Peyton the problem is he is due a $28 million bonus before the league year starts. So no trades are allowed until after Peyton gets his bonus, no way will the Colts give him $28 mil then trade him 5 days later.
