I've compiled some data that shows preseason games mean jack ****.
The last time Kerry came in with two weeks left until the first game, he went 0-3 and got benched. He was considered old then and that was 5 years ago.
The team he played for then was pretty bad, though, and coming off a 4-12 season. However, after he was benched the team went on a tear and would've made the playoffs had they won the final game of the season. This time he'll have much more dangerous receiving targets and is still a big upgrade over the current roster. Overall, I like the move, but this should've been made as soon as free agency started. Hindsight is 20/20...
Hope he loses every game, but I wish him personal success.
As for PM, 2008 was a bad season for him and he missed the entire preseason with that knee problem. Even when he comes back he might have issues getting back into the swing of things.
This division is wide open for the first time in a long time.
I still have to see him actually miss a game before I will be convinced he will miss one. If he misses any more than one game we will not win the division or make the playoffs. With all the time he has missed this could be a bad season, even if he plays all 16 games. Guess it's about time the yearly 8-8 or one of the two bottom feeders win the division.
Total playoff berths
Team Division Champions# Wild Card Berths# Playoff Berths#
Indianapolis Colts 7 (14) 2 (10) 9 (24)
Tennessee Titans 2 (9) 2 (12) 4 (21)
Jacksonville Jaguars 0 (2) 2 (4) 2 (6)
Houston Texans 0 (0) 0 (0) 0 (0)
So you think that if the Colts don't win the division the Titans will win it over the Texans?
The time frame you are referring to was when he was coming out of Oakland. Those were easily his worst years.
Last year (in 9 games) Collins posted his best passer rating since 2002 (third best of his career).
So you think that if the Colts don't win the division the Titans will win it over the Texans?
Okay, so we're changing our arguments mid-flight? In that case, yes, I do think Phillip Rivers is a top-5 QB!
So you think if global warming is disproven, the Pro-Bowl will stay in Hawaii? WTF?
You implied the Texans were somehow a level above the Titans and the Jags. You are way wrong. That's it. The Colts have owned the division, but I think it's less about the franchise than it is about the franchise QB.
I think Houston wins this year, but I think the statement "bottom-feeders" has a historical connotation. The Titans certainly aren't perennial bottom-feeders in that context, although they obviously trail the Colts in that regard. It's an argument on semantics, I guess.
Personally, I think the Titans are better than the Colts without Peyton but he'll be back before the Colts' bye week. So...Who knows.
It wasn't meant to be in historical terms, it was mainly just a fun shot at the Titans fans on here. I do think the Titans will finish last or second to last in the division either way.
Would the Colts make the playoffs without Peyton? No way but I still think they would be better than the Titans. Wayne, Clark, Garcon and Collie are way better than anything the Titans have and 2 of the best DE in the game. Indy still has more talent than Titans with or without Peyton
