The Official Denver Broncos Thread

Pats lost today. There is still hope for home field advantage in the playoffs as long as Denver can take care of business from here on out :rock::dance2::dance2:

I wonder how long it will take for Peyton to heal? I know Antonio Gates suffered a plantar fascia injury a few years back and it took him awhile to get healthy. He has never looked the same since that injury. He may still be suffering from it.

Say Peyton is healed up by the playoffs. Yet Brock improves and plays well up to the playoffs. Do you start Peyton or roll with Brock?

I didn't watch today's game but I think a healthy Manning could do what Osweiler is doing.

Elway missed a few games in his Super Bowl years at the end of his career too.

Play them both, but again not sure how well that will heal and add cold weather to the mix -- I would say Brock stays in --- he is definitely a decent QB and not another Jim Sorgi type backup

It's a pretty bad injury and takes forever to fully heal. Throw that top of not having feeling in his fingers on his throwing hand, bruised or cracked ribs and general wear and tear that comes with playing QB the last 20 years counting his college days, he's a tough SOB.

He needs to take some of those special "supplements" made by Bill Romanowski and play for another ten years.

Honestly, the Broncos are in a bad spot. If they rush him back and bench Brock for no other reason than Manning feels a bit better then that lockerroom will be all types of ****ed up

Maybe, but the I wasn't working for Manning earlier this year. Maybe it was because of the incohesive line, but Manning can't move like BO

No, he can't. Brock has a much quicker release than Peyton plus a stronger arm. And he's more mobile. This isn't the same kind of offence that Peyton's used to and even if he's healthy he's a bad fit for it.

I kinda meant the results of 17 points.

While it is clear Manning is at the end, I don't think Osweiler looks like the future of the franchise. At least from what I've seen of him.

I think Osweiler is average to below average. I think Peyton is not a starting QB right now. His arm strength is just shot, and he can't move.

The BO story looks somewhat similar to the Tom Brady story to this point. Taking over for a veteran QB with an elite D and adequate running game. Keep winning week to week and getting better, and who knows what BO looks like in 4-5 weeks. It's just as likely that he implodes, but at the very least it will be interesting.

Brock hasnt had much of a chance to play in Denver because Peyton has always wanted to stay in games even if they were blow outs. I dont think a fair and accurate judgement can be made about him this year. I think a full season of starting should be under his belt before we crown him as not the future.

Who is doing that?

His box stats look good today but he's only mustered 12 Points. You can't tell me that a healthy Manning couldn't do that.

He missed some throws and he had some good throws dropped. Kinda the story of the season for the Broncos offense.

BO can do things Manning can't do, but he showed how green he is with his inability to cope with a heavy pass rush. Obviously it's not all on him but veterans, especially Manning, give pre-snap directions based on their reads. He was hanging onto the ball too long, too.

Manning was putting up 300 all last season and in 6 months off he looks this bad? He is older but can you decree that much in that period of time. Maybe no one can run this offense? They had a great run game last season and Peyton ate them alive with the play action stuff. This year its all 3rd and 10+. Huge difference.

They had to go 6 lineman to make the run game work last year. They aren't as deep this year on the line. They have trouble putting 5 able bodies out there. The 6-lineman thing was a gimmick that worked for like 5 weeks until Manning hurt his planting leg and couldn't throw deep to save his life.

Manning looks great unless his timing is thrown off. Injuries have hurt his timing and the pocket just isn't a comfortable place, in Denver. Those are the difference between now and the first 10 weeks of last season.
