The Official Denver Broncos Thread

That may be asking a lot late in the season though. Manning was never known for great performances once the weather gets colder and worse in December/January at any point in his career, and he's really fallen off badly the past couple years in Denver.

Last year he had a drop off. The year before he was still throwing 3-4 TDs per game at the end if the year.

He doesn't need to do that this year. If he cuts out the pick-6s and scraps for 17-24 points thus defense can close out games.

The weather doesn't affect a great defense. This defense is the best defense Manning has had (although his Superbowl win defense was underrated). Wade Phillips was the missing factor.

None of the other arguments matter. Manning right now is better than Brad Johnson, Trent Dilfer, and, hell, probably Russell Wilson or Joe Flacco. He has what looks like an all-time great defense behind him. If he gets a running game, it will be enough.

Flacco had the best playoff run of any QB, ever. Peyton isn't doing that.

If you truly believe this statement then you're fairly new to watching football.

Joe Flacco Is One of the NFL’s Superstar Quarterbacks | The MMQB with Peter King

Putting aside the fact that he beat Luck, then Manning, then Brady...

On his way to winning a Super Bowl at the end of the 2012 season, Flacco had arguably the best postseason of any passer ever: 11 touchdowns, 0 interceptions, 285 yards a game and a much-deserved MVP award in the end. (The only other similar playoff run was Joe Montana’s in 1989: in three games he threw 11 touchdowns and 0 interceptions, averaging 267 yards an outing.)

Benoit watches more film than probably any sportswriter not named Greg Cosell, but maybe he's also just new to football. I'm sure you're basing your statement on plenty of real examples that you're about to explain.

Who? Manning or the Broncos in general?

Both have accomplished said feat more than once.

You know what I meant; a win in November ultimately means nothing if you don't back it up in January.

And what makes you so sure Manning will be playing in January? They seem to be doing well enough without him.

I don't know that Manning will be back. I was just covering bases depending on which way you were trying to take the convo.

Osweiler was looking pretty pedestrian until late in the 3rd. So who knows.

You ready to step.off Brady's sack now?

I hate Tom Brady with a passion. However, I am not such a Manning homer to not realize greatness when I see it. Brady is one of the greatest QBs to ever play. If you cant see that, then I really dont know what will make you see it. Also, if cannot see what Brady has done this season and what he has had to work with, then thats sad on your part.

I was wrong. Its happened before and it will definitely happen again. The Broncos won and I am ecstatic about it.

You definitely don't hate Brady.

There is a difference between recognizing he's good while hating him and and recognizing he is good while gushing over him every opportunity to you get like you have a school girl crush.

Oh and those WRs you mentioned are better than you think. They get open for him on those short passes and get YAC. With the injuries mounting Brady's efficiency that was so great in the first half of the season has started to decline. Clearly those guys were helping him.

Osweiler has better stats as a starter than Peyton this year. It looks like things are beginning to click for him. Unless he completely flops, I wouldn't bench him even if Peyton was healthy. Peyton simply does not fit Kubiak's system.

You're entitled to your opinion even if it is erroneous and fallacious. You're incapable of giving a non biased opinion about Brady, I get it. Thats cool. So Bradys efficiency has declined because he has lost a ton of starting OL and some of his most trusted WRs? Man, that must mean he really sucks. Of course his WRs were helping him, just like any other team in the NFL.

Look at the Denver game. No Edleman, Amendola or Dobson. So he had Gronk and LaFell and..... yet some how the Pats almost beat the Broncos. What do you think Peyton or Rogers would look like if you took away two starting WRs? Rodgers is missing Nelson and he hasnt looked anything like his normal self this season. Say whatever you like but what Brady has done this season is nothing short of amazing at 38 years old. Sorry you refuse to acknowledge it.

1 minute left, no timeouts, bad OL, no Gronk, no Edelman, no Amendola, no Lewis, best defense in the NFL, and I bet Broncos fans were still a little nervous. There's a reason for that.

First place Broncos? Commentators act like Manning is going to be the guy, but the team is running better with Osweiler which goes a long way with this D. Not that Osweiler looks that great today, but the run game is solid.

Kubiak has said they want Manning back. At least to the press.

I wonder how long it will take for Peyton to heal? I know Antonio Gates suffered a plantar fascia injury a few years back and it took him awhile to get healthy. He has never looked the same since that injury. He may still be suffering from it.

Say Peyton is healed up by the playoffs. Yet Brock improves and plays well up to the playoffs. Do you start Peyton or roll with Brock?
