The Official 2nd Amendment Appreciation Thread

Ah, the the flashbang. Unfortunately Im a member of the itty-bitty titty committee 😂
I want this though.
Right now I have an iwb sticky holster, and let's just say it makes me look like I'm "packing" if ya know what I mean. Lol luckily it's winter and my hoodies conceal but I need to find something more universal.

Try Yankee, DTH, GV, or some of those you see here that know what they're talking about (no insult intended if I omitted you).

I can't contribute anything. I use a very simple Tagua IWB, appendix carry, for both of my ODC's. I'm not a fan of putting anything behind your 3 or 9 o'clock position, where someone behind you can get to it before you can. And with appendix carry, I carry with an empty chamber, be it the compact 1911, or the Glock 30S. So when I train, it's "draw, rack, engage". I've timed it. It adds roughly half a second to my first round fired, and no loss (or improvement) in accuracy. So train how you plan to fight. Like the Colonel said, fast is fine, but accuracy is final.

There are a lot of good options out there. Find what works for you. But IMO, being deadly at 5 yards drawing from a paper sack is better than being cool and missing the target drawing from that $200 ZombieSlayer. Where that first round hits is much more important than where the gun arrived from.

This coming from the old fart who spent 6 hours this past Saturday qualifying on four guns. Duty, two backups, and my AR. I was fine with the AR and the compact 1911. Had to shoot the Glock 22 (duty) and 30S (other backup) twice. I had not shot "tough" in a couple of months, and it showed. Lesson learned moving forward. In my defense, the range master was a retired GSP trooper who discounts any rounds fired as the timer goes off. He's a friend, but he runs his range with zero leeway. I should probably thank him for that, as he motivated me to get back to when I could shoot fast, and well.

Y'all be safe out there, ya hear?

I've been using a Galco Tacslide for the Sig P365XL. Very comfortable. It rides fairly high and gives full concealment with a pullover or jacket.

Finally got the ATF Form 4 finished today for my 6933. The FFL/SOT I am using is new to the Class III world, so we both did a lot of research on avoiding the common "errors" that get the Form 4 sent back. We both went over it line-by-line; caught two minor typos; fixed them; and then did it one more time. So first thing tomorrow, out it goes with a check for $200 and a sincere hope that I get my stamp back in less than 8 months.

Wish me luck.

Just checked the ATF website tracker for Form 4's. 280-320 days. Good Lord.

The 2020 Vols will be 4-1 or 5-0 before I shoot a gun I bought 2 months ago.

If they're 5-0, I'm okay with it.

We disagree a lot, you and I. But here we agree. My Colt 6933 SBR is no more of a threat, or interest, to the government than the Saint Victor AR pistol that I almost bought. Were I not "queer for Colt", that would have been my choice. And had I went that route, I would be posting a month ago about my experience with it on the range. Instead, I am likely 10 months away from posting about an "SBR" that has a longer barrel, and OAL, than the Saint.

Oh...and I'm on the ATF RADAR to boot. And paid $200 for the privilege.

I'm not against, or for, closing the "AR pistol loophole". For one, it's the governments loophole. Maybe they should focus more on things like Saudis who come over here to train as pilots and end up shooting up the base with guns they legally bought, or perhaps why military bases...which are known to be a preferred target of terrorists, both foreign and domestic...are "gun free zones". But I digress.

That rifle...when I bring it home...will never be used for anything other than defending my family, my life, or those I took an oath to defend, Including the kids in the one Elementary School in my zone. None of you live where I do, but if you did then I suspect that you'd be fine with me having a weapon...once properly outfitted...that will give me an edge going down a hallway that your child is in, to confront a threat.

Remember that next time you vote.

I can’t say anything about your colt affliction. I’m going tomorrow to pick up a Colt Gunsite commander that I’ve had on order.

I’ve long since given up on anything of sanity coming from DC or even any of the state houses. I’m all about the temperature of the water in my pool. Control the area that affects you the most, it’s less stressful that way.

Could have bought a bull-pup and shot it that day. With a longer barrel and shorter overall length to boot. :p

I know. Don't rub it in. I went "All Colt, and all same internals" with the idea that no matter which one I was behind, they would all work (shoot) the same. Maybe it makes a difference, and maybe not. Zombies come, ATF be damned, any one of my uppers will mate with any of my lowers. So now I have "double redundancy", it it ever comes to that. Which it most likely won't.

This is it. I'm done. Started out with one AR, and said I was good there. Now, I have 3. Plus three .45's, and a couple of revolvers for Upper Management, and what have you. Enough.

And enough 5.56 and .45 ammo to fight a small war. A serious small war.

All GV's fault.

Had you done a Form 1, bought the lower separately from the upper, you’d probably have that Colt under the tree for Christmas.

Yep. Unfortunately, I figured that out after I had already bought the rifle. Funny thing is, I wasn't really ready to pull the trigger just yet. Found a NIB 6933 on GunBroker at a really nice bid price; made the minimum bid, figuring someone would outbid me; then sat there for 6 days and watched me win the auction. Then, to make matters worse, the seller ended up knocking another $150 off the bid after I called them to arrange the FFL transfer, and we ended up talking on the phone for a while. So I got a really good deal, but unfortunately my new toy will sit in NFA jail for 8-10 months.

Which, in looking for the silver lining here, gives me plenty of time to acquire all of the upgrades I'll need to turn it into a sweet gun. Geissele SSA-E will be under the tree on the 25th, courtesy of Santa.

So if you've got any other suggestions, now's the time.

I’m very pleased with the Colt Gunsite Commander. 350 trouble free rounds today.I think I’ll install a standard recoil spring as well as one of Wilson’s shock buffs and be done with it. Colt currently uses a duel recoil spring. Kinda iffy with an aluminum frame. I changed out the old slim stocks for an appropriate set of Gunsite stocks I’ve had for years. I’m pleased.
