Recommendations on a reasonable 22 pistol for target practice and to eventually teach my kids to shoot?
It's a bit on the new side so isn't as vetted as some others but I'm intrigued by the S&W Victory. It apparently disassembles with one screw to the point you can swap out different barrels.

Anyone shot a Ruger 22/45 lite?
I am ISO a ar pistol complete upper, 5.56/.223 , 10.5" barrel, I figured I could a decent one second hand for less money, but I've been looking at some really nice setups from ground zero precision and hardened arms.
Lemme know if anyone has one they're willing to part with, I have paypal and Google wallet!
Do you plan to start the kids out on pistols or start with rifles first and go to pistol? I would start with a 22 rifle just to get the basics down, let them understand recoil, sight picture, etc. I have an H&R 949 22 revolver that is fun to shoot. $200 so not bad, I would also recommend the P22 as a good semi plinker. I just know when I go to the range and someone has brought a complete noob and hands them a semi pistol I slowly slink behind my car. When you know zero about guns I do not think a pistol caliber handgun is the place to start.

No offense but I think my chihuahua could handle shooting a .22lr pistol. The kids should be fine.
